Moon River Cabins

We stay at Moon River Cabins every year because we love them so much. They are comfortable and cozy with a beautiful river view. Exceptionally clean and well-maintained, comfortable beds and furniture, well stocked kitchens with new appliances, and cute decks with overhangs so even if it rains you can sit outside and watch the river. The state park is also beautiful and is across the street. Close to Off-Shore resort and Kalmes for nice dining experiences and cute down town shops. Under new ownership and they are currently renovating inside and outside, adding hot tubs that over look the river. Highly recommend this property!

This is the 2nd visit to the Moon River Cabins we have done. Both times we stayed in the Paddlewheel cabin with the river view. We first visited before the new owners took over and had a wonderful experience. It was exciting to see all the new updates that have taken place on our second trip. They were also generous in offering a military discount. Appliances, furniture and fixtures were all updated and small board games were added to the cabin. There is a small fire ring and grill off the little patio on the river side that is very convenient. They also added streaming options to the TVs which was thoughtful as well as convenient. The owners are also adding a hot tub to this cabin which may be a cool experience for some folk. It is in a great location being within walking distance to the main street and hubbub of food, gas station, Brewery, coffee and a little shopping. The park is also nearby for a lovely stroll or hike. Overall, we had a great experience and do recommend staying here as we will also be back in the future to stay.

We stayed at Blue Moon cabin rentals and the pictures on the website aren't anything like the actual cabins and property. We were wanting to view the Mississippi river and watch the barges from our cabin go by. They don't mention that the view is blocked by a building below and in front of the cabin, making it impossible to see the river or barges.Scrub trees and tall weeds blocked the view as well The grounds were filled with tall weeds and were not well kept. The gas fireplace was supposes to work but it didn't. The tv was on a wall where it could only be viewed by laying on the bed. The cabins are right across the street from a very busy highway. About zero privacy for any of the cabins because they are all so close to each other. In one of the cabins we had stayed at before you couldn't open the door to the patio since the bed blocked it. We won't go there again. As well, the prices were higher than they should have been due to the issues mentioned above
