Courtyard Jackson Ridgeland

Oh my goodness! This place is BAD, BAD, BAD! And the cost was comparable to other hotels in Jackson. They are renovating but come on, this place is the worst! We contacted Marriot Corporate and they aren't taking any responsibility for their name being used by this hotel. That is so misleading and almost criminal. The pool was full of the blackest water and there were gnats everywhere! YOU can't have standing water like this!! So many things are wrong with this hotel. TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY MARRIOT!!! I can't believe this place is even allowed to operate. OH and the SMELL of the awful carpet was enough to make someone gag!

The property is a dump. Staff is very nice and helpful. Has a pool. But the rooms, hallways, elevators, everything inside is a dump. The furniture is old and tattered. Inside the room, there is hardly any light. The bath towels are small. Everything is old, chipped, scratched. The owner obviously does not spend a dime trying to make the place look nice. Furniture is old and worn out. How much does it cost to replace a chair in the lobby? I stayed one night and checked out early. Awful place. Can’t believe it’s a Courtyard. Never again.

We came in town for a funeral. Not the best time to visit, but ok. Walked in and received good service from front desk staff. We quickly discovered that this is where things went down hill. The first room we checked in had issues with temperature control. The second was supposedly renovated but was not clean whatsoever. The hardwood floor was completely filthy and you couldn't walk around without shoes or else you'd drag dust and dirt into bed with you. The hallways, stairs, and elevators were the worst we've ever seen. There was remodeling equipment scattered throughout the entire hotel...more specifically in many of the common areas like the stairs, ice machine area, and just outside the elevator. There was also debris and drywall and paint flakes everywhere. When we approached management and staff they shrugged it off and actually stated the situation was out of their hands. We even pointed out an empty chip ag on the floor and they ignored it to our face. Meaning there was absolutely nothing they could do, because they were directed to do nothing about the issues. This last part was the most disturbing. Who told staff to do nothing about filth and dissatisfied customers? Lastly, my wife and I are both Travel Agents and will be contacting the BDM for this location, because this is embarrassing to the entire Marriot brand.

First, I think they’re doing a renovation which explains the messiness and uncleanliness of the common areas however that doesn’t excuse the state of the rooms. It was terrible. There was furniture torn apart. One of the dresser drawers was off the hinges. There was no soap for the shower. There were lights on the side of the room with the bed only the general floor lamp so at night half the room was dark. You couldn’t do anything while sitting in bed. There were also no outlets by the bed so good luck trying to charge your phone and have it near you at night. Horrible stay for a Marriott

Honestly, this hotel stay was very rough. When I entered my room, the table and desk chair were strangely stacked on the sofa as though they were moved for vacuuming and never put back (see images). The doors to enter the hotel seemed like they were barely staying on the hinges (It honestly felt kind of unsafe). The hotel was very dirty: I found corners filled with dust, someone else's hair in my sink (the hair was black and I am a redhead), paint was peeling everywhere (guest room doors, ceiling, etc.). But the worst part of the stay was the business center. As I was traveling for work, I made sure to pick a hotel that advertised having a business center as I new I would need to print some documents during my stay. When I went to use this hotel's business centers, none of the computers worked. I asked a front desk agent for help and they nonchalantly just said they have no way for guests to print. In situations at other hotels where business centers have been down before, I have had desk agents offer to print what I needed on their back-of-house printer. Here, rather that offering to help they just said I am out of luck. I ended up having to take an Uber at 7pm to a ups to print a few Word documents.

This the worst Marriott that we have ever been in, and we have been in many, many of their hotels (platinum member). The chemical smell in the room was so bad that my husband's nose started stinging and I started coughing after just a few minutes. I went to the front desk, and they were very gracious to let us check out without charging us. We moved across town to a different Marriott that was great. The building is old, and worn out. Not up to Marriott's standards.
