When I chose Aqua Hotel I had in mind the proximity of a means of public transport (about 5 min walk is the subway station Porte de Namur), the positive reviews of other travelers and it caught my attention in the photos posted on booking.com and TripAdviser a large decoration inside the hotel. Arriving on the spot, the first impression was of a decent hotel, but because I already have some experience in traveling and after talking to the reception staff and the hotel manager, I can say that it is a very good hotel. The hotel was made 12 years ago. In the building, which was completely renovated to meet the new use, the offices of a branch of Kodak were previously located. I understand that the owner of the hotel is a great art lover and even had an art gallery before the hotel where works of contemporary Belgian plastic artists were exhibited/sold. Paintings that were not sold now decorate the hotel rooms. In my room I have a 2014 Yorik Efira. This explains the decoration that I mentioned before. In fact, it is a work of art belonging to Arne Quinze. It is made of wooden planks painted in a shrill blue that contrasts with the whiteness of the walls. The work symbolizes several streams of water that are found both outside and inside, seeming to penetrate through the glass roof of the hallway at the reception. The work follows the elements of the building and gives the impression of dynamism. Quite unusual for a hotel! The bed is comfortable, all the installations in the room / toilet work flawlessly, cleaning is done every day. Breakfast is rich, diverse, and the omelette is present. Next to it sausages, or small slices of roasted ham. And the pastry, a miracle! The staff is very kind and provides accurate and useful information about the problems you may have as a tourist in Brussels.

Esperienza davvero fantastica a Bruxelles.

4 of us stayed here in a quad room which was surprisingly very spacious. The hotel is located within walking distance from Bruxelles-Midi Brussel-Zuid train station and bus depot where we caught the Flixibus. At the time the hotel was surrounded in scaffolding and looked like a building site but on entry the inside was clean although slightly cluttered as there was a lot in such a small reception. As you entered, a massive information stand stood separating the reception from the narrow breakfast area. The wooden reception area looked welcoming as lots of plants around and interesting pictures on the wall. Check in was quick & easy. The smallest and oddest lift and I've ever been in took us 2 at a time to the narrow corridors where we found our room. As we entered the room, there was a single bed to the left and the bathroom on the right. Long side the bed was a mirror and at the end of the bed was a chair, a large 5-headed lamp and a desk that held a fridge on one side with a flat screen TV above the desk. The TV could not be properly viewed from the single bed as it was in line with it so it would have probably been best viewed if the TV was placed in the corner for all sleeping areas to view. In front of the desk was a large L-shaped settee which was also wrongly set up to watch the TV as half of the settee meant you had your back to the TV. The settee was used as a bed and situated by a coffee table under a large window that had a city view. To the left of the settee was the large double bed with a headboard that had built in bedside drawers with bedside lamps on each one. Opposite the settee was a large, old-fashioned double wardrobe. There was another window in the room that was small and showed a small balcony which you couldn't access. The mosaic bathroom has 2 sinks with a glass shelf and a large mirror above plus a hairdryer next to them. There was also a bath with a shower hose attached to the bath taps and another small window viewing the inaccessible balcony. We didn't have breakfast but the breakfast area looked clean and basic with a coffee and vending machine and all with table settings for 2. At the end of the breakfast area was a large garden with some artistic statues and at the beginning was a small lounge area with armchairs and a coffee table. The hotel was also located within walking distance to the main shopping, restaurants, bars and club areas.
With a stay at Hotel Villa Royale in Brussels (Saint-Josse-ten-Noode), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Avenue Louise and Tour & Taxis. This hotel is 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from La Grand Place and 1.4 mi (2.3 km) from Manneken Pis Statue.

We are within walking distance of many museums, such as old and modern arts, musical instruments, chocolates and cocoa, Belgian Centre for Comic Strip Art, Hortas Art Nouveau, a beer brewery, and more. For the frequent travelers, the Best Western City Centre can provide corporate rates as well as other attractive arrangements. Enjoy your stay.

Had an amazing stay. The room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed. The cocktails at the bar made by Benjamin and Sarah were amazing. In regards to the food, the cardo burger, ”the fish” plate and the chocolate cake dessert were all delicious. It's always a big plus to have a bar with friendly staff and good drinks. Will definitely stay here again.

UUtente ospiteThis hotel wasn't perfect but it worked well for us. With Marriott status I was having a hard time deciding between the various options. While the Renaissance doesn't have the best location (near EU parliament but a healthy walk from Grand Place and other central areas) and is a little rough around the edges, what I liked was the convenient (once you find it) and reasonably priced parking, reasonable prices in cash or points, solid four star breakfast and reasonably good (if not a little older,) rooms. Also the exec lounge was a nice advantage but really could be much better. They were disorganized, under staffed and constantly running out of food even early after they opened. Not enough utensils for serving, and hot food was very basic; no sweets. In the room, only one robe for two people and none available via front desk, and a broken shower gel dispenser. Overall, a busy, modern and functional hotel in a reasonable location with a pretty good cost benefit equation

UUtente ospiteMy wife and young child were visiting Brussels for 2 nights. We checked in on July 3 at the Renaissance front desk. We walked over to the building for the Executive Apartments, which is obvious need of upgrades in the lobby, elevator and hallways. We went to our room on the 1st floor, and it instantly smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (and thus not an option for our young child to stay in). I went back to the front desk lobby and explained the situation. The lady at the Reception (I believe her name was Alicia), said the room was Non-Smoking, and shouldn’t have been smoked in, but gave us a new key for a new room on the 2nd floor. We opened the door to our new room, which smelled horribly like a chemical factory. We opened the windows and hoped the smell would dissipate, but realized there was no hope for that. It was as if the room was doused in cleaning solution to cover up something that happened inside. The room was also in desperate need for repairs and upgrades, especially the tiny bathroom. We decided this hotel was not for us, and I walked back to the front desk (with a headache from the chemical fumes), explained the situation, and it was as-if they knew exactly what I was talking about and agreed with me and allowed us to cancel and check-out. We then drove around Brussels for 2 hours to find another hotel that had vacancy, which we found at Steingenberger’s Wiltcher’s at a 5x higher rate than what we originally booked at Marriott Executive Apartments. This is the first time in my life I have ever had to check out of a hotel shortly after arrival. I thank the hotel for agreeing to cancel my reservation, the lady at the front desk was very understanding and helpful.
