I stayed in a Single Economy Room and chose it based on the booking description - 12 square meters. The room turned out to be very small and could hardly moved once in, worse when I had to open the luggage and get things to use. Room amenities were sufficient. Room and bathroom were clean, but room size description could have been more honest. English of staff was generally not good, except for one night male staff. They responded to questions but not in a particularly enthusiastic manner. It was difficult to get recommendations. Breakfast was reasonable and F&B staff were attentive.

I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Mir hat dieses Hotel sehr gut gefallen, denn wenn man das Hotel betritt, ist das Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und man merkt, dass ihnen die Sauberkeit ihrer Zimmer sehr am Herzen liegt. Die Lage ist perfekt, die U-Bahn-, Bus-, Minibus- und Taxihaltestellen sind nur 2 Gehminuten entfernt. Im Badezimmer gibt es alles von Shampoo, Duschgel, Handtüchern und Hausschuhen. Ich denke, ich werde diesen Ort immer wählen.

Viaggiare a Istanbul è un'esperienza eccitante e la maggior parte del tempo si dovrebbe uscire dall'hotel e camminare intorno, quindi prenotare l'hotel lussuoso non è una buona idea. Devi considerare invece del tuo pagamento. A prima vista, la posizione di questo hotel può sembrare un po' deludente, ma vi assicuro che questo hotel è in una posizione fantastica e sicura, così come alla notte, quando dormi, è più tranquillo di molti quartieri. . Ξενοδοχείο στη πλατεία Ταξίμ , σε τοποθεσία που εξυπηρετεί τις μετακινήσεις στο κέντρο της πόλης και βρίσκεις πολλά μαγαζιά και εστιατόρια. Δωμάτια χωρίς καθόλου θέα και με πολύ θόρυβο από το δρόμο. Το πρωϊνό φτωχό, μόνο η θέα από την αίθουσα του πρωϊνού αξίζει.

Ottimo ostello: pulito, molti extra, armadietti incredibilmente di buone dimensioni con codici integrati, personale davvero cordiale e competente. La camera avrebbe potuto essere completata con un asciugamano e carta igienica extra (era al 4 ° piano, quindi non potevo prendermi la briga di andare su e giù), ma ci sono altri servizi igienici sul pavimento se necessario. Purtroppo la ”doccia” del WC perdeva acqua. La colazione era semplice ma abbondante. La preoccupazione principale era la posizione: strade buie e sporche che spesso odoravano di ****.

I personally liked this hotel very much. There were a lot of things that made my staying there comfortable and enjoyable. The staff speaks English very well, everybody’s warm and hospitable. Thanks a lot to Hasan from the front desk who was helping us with any questions we had. Also a masseur Erkhan Ali, who gave a wonderful massage. A waiter Umit, who speaks Russian, is a very polite and nice guy. Frankly speaking, every worker in the hotel is polite and nice. The room was clean every time we needed a cleaning, the staff offered us umbrellas when it was rainy. Any problem we had was solved quickly and efficiently. Talking about minuses, we didn’t like our room the first time. There was bad smell in the hammam and a view of a wall. But after we asked for changing the room, it was changed into a better one with no extra payment. And also the second room had a trouble with water and heating - the water in the bathroom was constantly changing between super cold and boiling, and the heater was blowing with cold wind instead of hot. But these were the only troubles we had. The restaurant is amazing, the view from it is gorgeous - Bosphorus, the Suleymaniye Mosque, the Hagia Sophia Mosque, Galata tower, the New Mosque and Topkapi Palace. I strongly recommend this place for staying. Hope to come back again next time!

La posizione è ottima e tranquilla: si trova a pochi passi dalla stazione di Sirkeci, luogo nevralgico per i trasporti ad Istanbul. A piedi si raggiungono Sultanhamet ed il porto con una piacevole passeggiata. La salita per arrivare all'hotel sarà di circa 30-40 metri dalla strada principale: con bagagli pesanti può essere un po' difficoltoso. Camera pulita, arredata con gusto, letto King size comodo, bagno ampio, prodotti di qualità forniti in dispenser. Set per preparare tè e caffè ed una bottiglietta di acqua ciascuno per ogni giorno di permanenza. Il cambio delle lenzuola è avvenuto dopo due notti mentre gli asciugamani sono stati cambiati quotidianamente. È vero che nella biancheria da bagno si sente odore di cloro ma lo considero un elemento a favore. La colazione è di ottima qualità molto varia, sia salata che dolce. Il caffè della macchinetta non era di mio gusto molto buono invece quello preparato nel dispenser. Arredamento della reception e della sala colazioni di design, moderno e confortevole. Alla reception abbiamo trovato persone preparate e disponibili. Baris al check out è stato gentile e veloce nelle operazioni. Il prezzo pagato è molto conveniente e mi sento di consigliarlo. Segnalo solo due piccoli inconvenienti: il giorno del nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato nel frigo della camera un prodotto del precedente ospite la considero una dimenticanza così come l'assenza delle bustine di tè che abbiamo richiesto e ci sono state prontamente fornite. Ritengo siano errori rimediabili e giustificabili dalla recente apertura (marzo di quest' anno) e dalla necessità di mettere a punto l'organizzazione. Se posso permettermi un suggerimento: è la prima volta che vado in un hotel dove la reception è lontana dall'ingresso da cui si accede subito all'ascensore per le camere: è vero che è necessario usare la carta della camera per far funzionare l'ascensore ma sarebbe a mio avviso opportuno presidiare in altro modo l'ingresso.

I had a really bad experience with this hotel. On the first night (I arrived late at night at the hotel), I found one of the beds and it's pillow soaking wet. I was very tired and decided to address the issue the next day. However, to my surprise, I was unable to switch off the lights. At 1:00 am I had 3 people in the room fiddling with the buttons with solutions such as ”sleep with some light” and ”remove the card so the room gets dark”. The next day, my agent suggested a room change, but because of my experience and my plans for the day, I didn't want to be moved into a room without seeing it, so I just asked for the light switches to be fixed and the sheets changed. I went out for the day to return at night. At reception I was assured that the problems were fixed. I walked into the room to find all my stuff gone. Only things in the safe were there. I went to the reception and found my suitcase, my hand bag, my carry on and my cosmetics bag. Someone had the audacity to pack my personal belongings. They actually removed my watch and charger and put them in my hand bag. My tooth brush, shampoo and other personal belongings were also packed into my bags with no consideration whatsoever. The person at the reception had no idea and explained that it seems someone intended to move my room and didn't. I find that unacceptable to say the least. The next day I came back to the room and found an ironing board blocking my room door. Super random behavior really. In addition to the above, the room was not clean, no tissue box and other essentials. the beds were hastily made, no effort even to straighten the sheets. All the sheets were mismatched. I tried to see the manager for 2 days in a row and got answers like ”he is in a meeting” from 9:00 am to 4 pm. When I asked where his office was, the answer was ”I don't know :). The only reason why I did not leave this joke of a hotel was that I was traveling with an older group of people and I didn't want to create disturbance for them. It's a definite no go for me.

This review is based on a recent 4 nights stay in this hotel. It is not a very positive review and will most likely be followed up by a response from the hotel, so it is up to you to consider who you would like to trust. I normally have a large degree of empathy when travelling and staying at hotels all over the world, but this hotel crossed definitely my threshold I had arranged a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and was provided with details as to where to locate the agent outside the arrival at the airport. Went to the designated “agent” who had a list of customers needing rides to the city. However, my name was not on the list and therefore waited 10-15 to see if perhaps there would an update or another “agent”. Let me add that I had my phone in airplane mode to avoid the ridiculous high tele and roaming charges in Turkey, perhaps a mistake on my part but I was not expecting any problem catching a ride. Should be very simple. When the “agent” never showed up, I arranged my own transport to the hotel, and this is where the “fun” starts. I was immediately met by an angry receptionist who claimed that I had never showed up as agreed which is a lie and continued to claim that I showed no respect and was lying. We “settled” his continuous claims by splitting the fare from the airport to avoid my hotel bill being charged for this. And now to the room: How on earth can anyone sane person construct a bathroom floor that tilts away from the drain causing a flood in the bathroom and the door and doorstep become rotten from guests showering. You are “graciously” provided with a swap to clear the water but it takes at least 5 mins to clear the significant amount of water accumulated on the floor. I am curious to know if the bathroom has a watertight membrane under the floor to avoid leaking below. Should the guest really be doing this - just wondering and to the lack of authorisations required to perform this type of work. Seems to be done by an amateur. There is a bad un-identifiable smell in the room, most likely caused by the regular floods in the bathroom and it is impossible to sleep with the windows open due to noise from the streets. On top of that, the room is so small that is it impossible to move around without hitting the bed, the cupboard or a chair. The wire for the bedside lamps are stitched together with electrical tapes causing a potential fire hazard Again done by an amateur. In summary, here is my evaluation of the hotel: Positive: Good location within walking distance to major sites and plenty of restaurants Negative: Un-reliable shuttle service Flooding bathroom floor Poor smell in room Dangerous electrical wiring which is a fire hazard Noise from streets and adjoining rooms
