Glenmoriston Town House Apartments

Warning - no lift. 39 steps to our room. Luckily we travel light. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was great every day. Drinks on the lawn with the River Ness right there. So relaxing. Saw a traditional Scottish wedding one day. That was very loud in the annex. Luckily we were in the main hotel. Easy walk into town along the river.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights after a Highlands hiking trip. I’d rate this hotel as good but it’s not really a “luxury” hotel. We stayed in the main building. Our room was fairly spacious and looked out over Ness Walk and the river so that was fine. The room got quite warm with the sun shining in but as per many hotels in the area, there’s no air conditioning. The windows were old and very heavy and wouldn’t stay open on their own ( and as usual no screens). We ended up finding ways to prop them open (good use of the metal kneenex box). The bathroom was also quite large but not well planned. No counter space for toiletries. Awkward to climb over the side of the tub for a shower and no hand rails. The building is old and shows it ….the floor tipped down from the window. The door did not have a modern locking system. The bed was a bit odd… the mattress and mattress topper larger than the foundation. Also no elevator so keep that in mind if you would have difficulty with luggage on the stairs. Breakfast was just OK and staff got a bit overwhelmed with a 7:00am rush. All that being said the staff was attentive and friendly and the location is very convenient and walkable to the downtown area. And they have a nice bar/lounge with outdoor patio seating.

We loved our 3 night stay lovely accomodations and Lisa at the front desk was a treasure to us .The Contrast Brassiere was fabulous with Caroline taking great care for us and our guests.Had the best venison roast of my 70 year life and James the bar man was marvelous.

Nice boutique hotel, easy access to town, walkable area, lovely views of Ness River, breakfast was good, beds comfy. I would stay here again. We changed to this hotel from a less appetizing accommodation, believe the reviews, hence how we ended up here. Good choice here.

The reception and front of house areas are delightful and welcoming. The issues start when you reach the corridor outside the accommodation. This area was tired looking and not of the standard of the front of house area. The door into our room was flimsy and was secured by a basic mortice lock. The door to the bathroom was also flimsy and was damaged. There was a small bolt to secure the bathroom door but this was difficult to engage. The bathroom was capacious but in all the space there was no railing to hold as you climbed in and out of the bath. Then, the bed. Oh dear! The mattress was wider than the bed base and the mattress topper wider than that. The effect of this being you felt that you were being tipped towards the edge of the bed. Not the most restful night sleep I've had. This was raised with Reception when checking out and the receptionist was polite and receptive. The staff are the real strength here; staff were engaged and friendly, T the barman being especially helpful.

We stayed in an apartment…it could accommodate 6 people but was very poorly stocked from a self-catering point of view. The apartment is nice but was not equipped at all to accommodate 6 people…1 glass tumbler, 3 plates, 5 mugs, 2 spoons, 2 coffee pods…and on and on. Was disappointing to keep going over to reception to ask for basic things like glasses and a tea towel. Staff were helpful but for £500 a night I expect a well serviced apartment. The upstairs shower leaked spectacularly. The bed was not very comfortable. The location is spot on for walking down the river, across to the theatre and to so many nice restaurants. Overall, I had high hopes for the apartment but feel it was underwhelmed but over priced.

My wife and I have enjoyed a short break in Inverness and stayed for 2 nights in this lovely hotel .Great highland welcome and a great room ( number 4) with a panoramic view of the river. Room was spotless as was bathroom with a lovely bay window and two comfortable easy chairs to watch the world go by. The breakfast had a good selection which would cover all tasted.Staff very chatty and helpful. Great location with a 10 minute gentle stroll into centre of Inverness. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for comfort and location. You will not be disappointed.

On the surface, this place looks lovely. It is in a good location by the river, and the bar looks good. Beyond reception, the decor is very dated. Our room was dark, smelt musty, and needed redecoration. The check in process was disappointing - we were sarcastically informed that we were still in the Highlands, and when we said we intended to walk around the loch a bit in the afternoon, were told that it would take a long time. Felt very off, and set a poor tone for our stay. Breakfast service was better, with a nice selection. We probably wouldn't return.

The rooms were outdated, the bathroom had condensation running down the walls and the floor was uneven. The only positive thing was the bed . There were no lifts and people with mobility issues struggled to get up the many stairs. The restaurant was extremely overpriced although they offered you a dinner deal which is a total rip off. Their accounting system seriously needs to be looked at as we were overcharged with no refund and lots of excuses. Would never stay there again.
