The setting for the distillery and inn are phenomenal with stunning views. The staff on check in, at the restaurant and bar were all super friendly. The food we had in the restaurant was excellent and the atmosphere with live music was very special. The only real let down was the state of the room, broken patio door (that didn’t lock) and damage to skirting boards etc. It’s a real shame as this is a missed opportunity in quality and one I hope they get on top of in the closed season. Otherwise, a pleasant stay!

We stopped by to purchase some liquor and were pleasantly surprised to find a Restaurant/Pub and Inn at the Glenora Distillery. We had lunch, presumably in the pub section, while enjoying the delightful music of Neil McDaniel. My husband ordered the smashed fish cakes, which I sampled and found to be excellent, accompanied by a salad with an outstanding dressing, though we forgot to inquire about its ingredients. I opted for the calamari, which was impeccably fried and served with a delectable spicy dip. The calamari was served à la carte, without any salad or fries, which was a bit disappointing considering the price of $22.00 CDN, but they were so tasty that it hardly mattered. The ambiance was lovely, and the part of the grounds we explored was beautiful. There's also a gift shop and paid tours of the distillery available, but you'll need to check the schedule if you plan to take the tour. Overall, we would definitely return to dine, and perhaps even stay a night or two the next time we're in the area. It's certainly a spot worth visiting if you're in Cape Breton. Regarding taking home some liquor, we decided against it since it was a bit expensive.

Following recent reviews placed well after we booked I contacted the Inn Manager and expressed concern. I was assured everything would be fine. It was in fact excellent, a great meal in the pub with good service. We knew breakfast was not provided but the box contained yoghurt, fruit, a scone with butter and jam and some cheese no “hard biscuit” but a chorale and nut healthy bar. Well done to the Glenora staff and management.

We called in on the way to Inverness but had just missed the free music. We deliberated about sharing a flight of whiskies but decided against it as we still had to drive. Popped back later for the evening music session. Staff were very friendly & the pub has a nice feel to it. Being half Irish & brought up with a love of fiddle music I was a little disappointed with the music, although the guy was an excellent fiddle player it was a little staid.

We stayed in the lodge. This inn has multiple room types, the distillery itself, cabins, and two multiple room units. Our experience was in one of the multiple room units which was down the road from the main building and up a steep dirt road. Check in was smooth, however we needed to come back after 5 to pick up a take away continental breakfast which was not really worth the bother. The room itself was very dated with a small bathroom and a shower my husband couldn’t move in. It did have a mini fridge and microwave and a good size tv. The beds were also good quality so we did get a decent nights sleep. The outstanding feature of this location was the peaceful back deck which offered views of the entire valley. Overall I feel this room is not worth what we had to pay.

A bit over priced, but food and drinks were great . When we left the bar at the end of the night , a red head lady asked if we were looking for party supplies and she provides services. It caught us off guard she served us and was doing her job, but to follow us out and ask us things that a server should not , I wish I remebered her name , other then that it was decent besides that , nice view beautiful area

The Glenora Distillery has a lovely pub that features great food, fabulous service and live music! We ate on their beautiful patio surrounded by impeccable gardens. A small river runs through the patio area and the sound coupled with the gardens makes a perfect setting. We had drinks and dinner, it was grand, made even better by our server Mary. She was simply lovely, told us we were in for a treat as the food was wonderful - she was right. My husband had seafood chowder and I had Cape Breton Smash Cakes (salt cod fish cakes) done to perfection. We shared a large Ceasar salad, yummy. It was simply lovely in every regard, from the greeting of the hostess, to our server, to the lovely patio. We'll be back every time we're in Cape Breton!
