Additionally, the town has a variety of restaurants including the famous Harbor View Cafe, iconic lakeside boat-up restaurant The Pickle Factory, and the fun-in-the-sun Garden Pub & Grille. For breakfast be sure to visit the Homemade Cafe and if you like Barbeque don't miss Smoke-In D's pop up stand - all located walking distance from Pepin Guest Haus. Pepin is also the original home of American author Laura Ingalls Wilder and has a museum dedicated to her and the early settlers of the area. Gift shops and metal art are plentiful in town as well.Pepin itself can delight for a full weekend but if you'd like to explore the area by car or motorcycle the towns of Bay City, Maiden Rock, Stockholm, Nelson, Alma, Fountain City, Wabasha, Lake City, Frontenac, and Red Wing are all within 45 minutes or less from Pepin Guest Haus.
