My friend and I spent 2 nights at Hilltop Lodge while exploring the International Falls Area. We liked the ease of check in but were very disappointed when we immediately had to use our own supplies to clean mold from the mini fridge before we could put our food in. It was also not plugged in so not cold. We arrived at dinner time and searched for food options which are pretty limited at night- fast food only. We had brought food but had no way to cook it. I booked through VRBO but this was basically a motel. Thankfully beds were comfy!

Clean room, very easy check-in/out process. I used ******* to book the room and paid in advance. Hilltop sent me a room number and key code for the electronic lock on my room door. All went smoothly. Never even talked to an employee in person thru the whole process. This is a great place to stay for affordability and ease. Window AC kept my room ice cold thru stay despite high 80’s temps and super high humidity outside. Great location in town, quiet, low traffic.

It would be nice if the grounds had some maintenance. Not a bad stay the place just needs a little love. The pictures on here look good but it I was a little disappointed by what it looks like today. The location was good, short walk down to the local VFW for a cold beer.

We have stopped there every year on our way to Canada to fish. Great price and a great place to stay before crossing the border. What we love about it is that all nine of us got our own bed, makes getting a great nights sleep almost Guarenteed. The do need to work on the weeds this year, has never looked that bad before

Website was a bit confusing but figured it out and was able to easily book a room. Received immediate replies via text and email will needed details. Old school style ‘motor court motel’ all on a single level. Made nicely comfortable without completely remodeling. Was in 111 and it was a very large room with table and 4 chairs, fridge micro and coffee maker with a couple pods. You can also use ground coffee if you have it. All guests were quiet and well behaved. Walls thin so you can hear people next to you but not loud, more like a whisper. Occasional road noise if noisy vehicle but otherwise nice and quiet. AC worked great and I slept very well. Great value and is stay again for sure.

Good stop for a night or two. Centrally located, comfortable. Tiny bathroom. Ample parking. Manager not on site, e-mails & texts check-in info prior to stay. Wished someone would have been on-site for area questions, information, knowledge, etc.

What can I say, this place is one that will be talked about for years to come and not for any good reason. Save yourself the time and effort and just book your stay in International Falls at a reputable chain hotel. This place is a cake topper! Sinking and slopped floors, bed jacked up on blocks to compensate for the slopping floors, a bathtub with a massive fiberglass patch in the middle of it, can filled with cigarette butts outside, and an overgrown lawn filled with dandelions and an embarrassing firepit behind the cabins. The owner of this DUMP obviously does not live in International Falls or just does not care at all. Either way, stay someplace else that does care about the quality of the accommodations.

We took a short northern Minnesota tour for our anniversary, and found this gem of a motel in International Falls, the owners are a welcoming and friendly couple, rooms are clean, you can see they really take pride in their property, right down to the landscaping in front of the rooms.

Door code was incorrect in first email. A correction was sent, but I missed it before arriving. I was able to find someone in the office and get a correct code. Room was standard for the price. The wifi was really sketchy. It worked best is you stood in the doorway and faced the office.
