Hotel in zona 大見八幡太神社, Imabari

We stayed here for one night in between our bike ride on the shimanami kaido. We choose to do the bike route in two days to relax and enjoy it. Room: We had a very good futon in our room. The decoration is very nice. It is clean and simple yet beautifull. Service: the staff is amazing here. They helped my boyfriend plan a romantic dinner in the restaurant opposite the hotel (also an amazing good restaurant!). Location: The hotel is in a good location on Ikuchijima. It is not that far off the main cycle route and the town is very nice to walk through. Not many people may stop during the bike route, but we do recommend it. It is important to also see the local culture and towns on the islands. Breakfast was served in SOIL and was amazing! You can choose for Japanese or western style breakfast. We personnaly prefer the Japanse breakfast. Their coffee is also quite good. The design of SOIL is very beautifull. We felt very relaxed during our breakfast. A special thank you to the hotel staff for helping plan our special moment at their hotel and at the restaurant. ＜3

Good and good location

La zona di accoglienza e il bar dell'hotel sono molto moderne con alcuni belli decori giapponesi e prodotti domestici su divani. C'è anche un complimentare ”buffet di amenità” per poter raccogliere qualche sapone, shampoo, sali da bagno ecc. ogni volta che ne hai bisogno. Il 3° piano, che era moderato ma molto pulito e sembra aver avuto una recente rinovazione, poiché il bagno era molto nuovo e moderno. La principale strada commerciale di Imabari è a soli 2 minuti a piedi con alcuni negozi di caffè e negozi di prodotti domestici. Ci sono anche due negozi poetici molto vicini dove si può acquistare il trattamento dolce locale di Imabari che sono perfetti con caffè e anche come idea regalo boxed! Il più vicino negozio di comodità (un Mart della famiglia) si trova a circa 5 minuti a piedi e il castello di Imabari si trova a circa 10 minuti a piedi dall'ingresso frontale dell'hotel e offre un'interessante serata e dispone di una vista eccellente a 360 gradi dalla parte superiore. L'hotel ha biciclette che si possono noleggiare gratuitamente, ma i sedili erano molto inconfortabili e anche un po' dolorosi (anche se potessi essere solo me, perché non ho guidato una bici in pochi anni e sono un grande blocco australiano pesante! ) I nostri futon erano molto confortevoli, abbiamo dormito una bella notte e ci sono stati molto raffredditi al mattino. Purtroppo abbiamo deciso di andare all'Imabari Kokusai Hotel per colazione invece di fare colazione all'Hotel Kikusui Imabari e abbiamo avuto forse il peggior buffet di colazione lì. Mi dispiace davvero che non ci siamo semplicemente fermati e abbiamo fatto colazione a casa, perché la cena a Kikusui sembrava essere molto meglio e a una frazione del prezzo! Non posso farlo e rimarrò assolutamente in visita al mio vecchio villaggio di Imabari!

Da quando l'isola di Bo Hait è stata completamente la strada del negozio, ci sono sempre più negozi di nuovi sentimenti nei negozi vuoti.Per i viaggiatori che si sentono dispiaciuti e depressi per la vecchia città di oggi, questo può essere un buon hotel. La colazione è gratuita. Puoi bere il caffè caldo senza limiti.Ok, sto lavorando.

Vivo nel piano di biglietti e colazione di Kisuke no Yu.E'solo vicino alla stazione di JR di questo paese, e c'è Lawrence vicino.Puoi andare al bar di questo paese, compreso il famoso ristorante di pollo di questo paese. Sono arrivato alle nove di venerdì sera, ma il parcheggio gratuito è stato fermato in sicurezza all'ultima stazione.Benvenuto fino alle 21:00, bevande gratuite sono state portate nella stanza fino a ０.Puoi anche portare le strutture convenienti liberamente. Very disappointed to be writing this review... Firstly, their website is dreadfully dated and their booking system puzzling, even comically so. It almost feels like using the Wayback Machine... I tried booking five or six months in advance and so I wrote to the hotel to express my excitement for both coming back to Imabari where I once lived and worked teaching English in 1999, and also that I had always wanted to stay at the hotel, as I actually lived directly across the road from the hotel and always thought it so exclusive and luxurious-looking, and it was the talk-of-the-town back in '99 when they were still very new. I was willing to pay a substantial room rate for a Tatami Suite (approx. ¥30,000 per night for three nights) however was advised that they were sold-out for my desired dates-of-stay in March 2023. What irked me is that no alternative accommodation options were offered, despite there still being availability on third-party websites such as *********** and ******* for other room types, and there was no acknowledgment of my excitement and enthusiasm for wanting to be a guest of theirs' after so many years, or for any disappointment caused. This is terrible service, and not exactly what one would call 'growing the business' to reject a potential guest despite having other rooms and suites available to sell. We instead booked ourselves a wa****su (traditional Japanese tatami room) at Hotel Kikusui Imabari down by the port, which was cute, comfortable, clean, and looks to have had recently had a refurbishment of their guestrooms as the bathrooms while small were nice and new. The cost of this room was also about a third of what the Kokusai Imabari Hotel asks for their Tatami Suites as well. I still wanted to go to the Kokusai Imabri Hotel however and at least see their gardens and lobby, pick up some Imbari towels from the official store at the front entrance, and have breakfast in their restaurant. The lobby is very nice and it does have the grandeur of a Japanese hotel trying to be a European hotel without being tacky or dated, and it does appear that they have recently cleaned all the chandeliers (I'd read other reviews and this seems to have been a first impression for a lot of guests, so this was a nice surprise to see them dust-free). We had a look at the gardens outside and they were very nice and maintained as to be expected with Japanese gardens. So why the 1 star review? Well, we wanted to treat ourselves to what we thought would be a five-star breakfast. We were told to go upstairs to the mezzanine level and we met a nice lady staff member who advised that breakfast would be roughly ¥2,400 per person. No problem, that's fair for a good buffet breakfast. We were then however lead into a huge banquet hall with only a couple of dozen guests dining, which made it feel even emptier and more like a school cafeteria rather than a classy restaurant. Prior to staying at a luxury ryokan in Dogo Onsen proper (Bettei Oborozukiyo), we decided to check out Setouchi Retreat Aonagi as a means to relax on site and explore Tadao Ando's creation. While there's creativity and uniqueness in the design and aesthetic of the property, it kind of left us cold.... it's a sea of concrete in our eyes. Yes, there are some interesting nooks and crannies that stirred our senses, large windows everywhere let in an abundance of natural light, and the decor was tastefully minimalistic, it still felt as if we were staying in a museum or a European castle rather than a grand and comfortable home. Something to experience once, but not really a place one craves to return - at least in our minds. And given that it's a 25-minute drive away from Dogo Onsen, you really need to be a big fan of Mr. Ando to spend more than a night here. Everything about the property was done right. Service is attentive and prompt, the food was very good (not top class but still a memorable experience) and the view of the Seto Inland Sea is Instagram-worthy. We were able to book the one and only Aonagi Suite, which has a massive 170 square meters of living space and is Maisonette-style with the living room having a very tall, double-height ceiling with double-height windows, allowing for breathtaking views and tons of natural light in the room. If there's one nit to pick, it's the lack of a real Onsen bath in the room, which is a bummer. And while many luxury properties in Japan provide a communal or rental Onsen facility (or both), here at Aonagi they offer a Pool with a Sauna and an Onsen Jacuzzi that can be privately rented by guests staying there. Some might like the idea of an Onsen jacuzzi, but we did not. The Onsen experience is supposed to be calm, serene and relaxing; a jacuzzi exudes more of a party atmosphere, which doesn't fit well under this concept. Also, while stylish, the pool and jacuzzi feel like being in a (artificially created) dungeon. I would've much preferred something of an open-air variety, to be honest. The other curious aspect of the property is the fact that all guests (other than those staying at the Aonagi Suite) are forced to dine in the main restaurant. Given that it has ”Retreat” to its name, and caters to celebrities and the wealthy, I would've thought that Aonagi would offer private dining - if not in one's own room, then at least in private ”koshitsu” rooms. We knew this going in, so we were thankful that the Aonagi Suite was available for booking for the date of our intended stay. Dinner was excellent, but how could it not be? Seafood caught in the Seto Inland Sea are world famous in quality, and everything from the local Red Sea Bream, Spanish Mackerel and White Horse Head were fantastic. The executive chef was recently transferred to the property from one of the sister properties (Iki Retreat Kairi Murakami), and still maintains connections to Iki Island that allows him access to amazing fish, namely Lon
