"Really great to see this place refurbished. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We've stayed here a few times in the past (our wedding reception in 2017) and have many happy memories. A couple of things would make a difference to the experience and make the stay worth the money (£150+ a night with breakfast). The breakfast is very much a "self serve" of cereals and yogurt etc but felt like a budget hotel experience, with serve yourself filter coffee and boxed kelloggs cereals. I think having someone offer and serve hot drinks would make a difference. I ordered toast from the menu both days and would have expected this to be included in the self serve buffet. The toast was standard supermarket sliced bread which was disappointing. I expected homemade bread or if it needed to be bought in, something better like thickly sliced bloomer or sourdough toast. It certainly didn't match the price tag of the stay."

"Disappointing to find out on arrival the kitchen was closed and breakfast was a box of cereals. Room was dusty and I don't think the carpet had been hoovered before my stay. Toilet wasn't clean."

"Warm welcome, staff friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! We visited on a Saturday and there was 12 of us celebrating a couple of birthdays in our party. The pub is well decorated and cosy. The staff were great very patient and knowledgeable. The food was excellent all round. We will be back! Thank you for having us."
