On Monday August 29th, 2022, after a five-hour ferry crossing, my wife and I arrived in the evening at Le Chateau Madelinot, situated at 323, route 199 in Fatima, Magdalen Islands. This seaside property is conveniently located and provides quick access to the Cap-aux-Meules ferry, restaurants, fast-food places, and other services. Since there is an hotel room shortage on the islands and to the popularity of these island crossings, this three-night reservation was done five months in advance as suggested to me. For check-in, the friendly front desk staff welcomed us. The impeccably clean seating area of the lobby was modern and inviting. Our room was available, so it was quick and easy at getting our room key. The central elevator brought us to the lower level, then a good walk to the west side of the hotel to join another corridor that led us to our first floor Signature Room. Due to staff shortage, there was no daily room service option for cleaning our room. Towels and toiletries were available upon request. During our stay, we made this seaside property our home base as it was easy to travel to the various sites and attractions of the island, and parking was always available and plentiful. In the afternoon we were able to enjoy our veranda, the wooden walkways crossing the lovely grounds, to use the picnic tables and to enjoy the sun, the singing and guitar presentations. In addition, the indoor pool and the two hot tubs made our stay more enjoyable. On the last evening, we enjoyed bistro-style cuisine at the on-site Accents Resto. Breakfast was not included with our room but was available to guests with a reservation and a bit pricey. Early on the last morning, before leaving the premises, the front desk made sure we got our invoice statement then we drove nearby to Cap-aux-Meules for the return ferry. We would recommend Chateau Madelinot to family and friends and would rate our stay as four stars.
