Elephant Passage

We booked a Jacuzzi Cottage for ₹12,000, expecting a relaxing and memorable experience — but what we got was continuous frustration and poor service. From the moment we checked in, the jacuzzi was not working. We complained four times, and although they attempted to repair it, it stopped working within 5 minutes every time. Even by checkout time (11 AM), it still wasn't fixed. The main feature we paid for was never usable. We raised this with the manager, but he was completely uninterested. Instead of taking responsibility, he kept telling us they'd speak to the CEO — all while making us wait, even though they knew we were getting late to check out. Eventually, they refunded us ₹3,000, but considering we lost the main feature of our ₹12,000 booking, this was not a fair resolution. To make matters worse, Wi-Fi and TV were not working either. We didn’t come here just for a place to sleep — we came to create good memories, but this experience ruined that completely. If you're considering booking this place for the jacuzzi or any premium experience, please think twice. You're taking a risk.

Location was beautiful. Rooms were good however beds were awful, filthy, dirty. Please see the photos. This is what we got in this five star hotel. They didn’t offer us another room as hotel was fully booked neither they changed the mattress, sheets or pillow covers as they didn’t had any in stock to replace. Had to sleep on guest bed for entire booking. Management did bother to apologise or responded to complaint. No hot water. Veg & non veg food mixed up. Chaos in the restaurant as not coping up with demands. Food trays were empty, delays in topping them up, Shortage of cutlery & clean plates.

It has a lot of good things and a few drawbacks. It is important to list out the good things as well as the drawings. It is a nice and clean resort where one can stay within a good green cover and not so great views. The approach road is very very steep but comfortably doable even with a 2-wheel drive car. When you see it for the first time you may get doubts, but simply go for it. The reception desk experience was just 'OK'. During our stay there was some water crisis. Crisis is understandable (breakdowns do happen), but the crisis management could have been little better. They leave it to the assumption of guests if they want to treat it as crisis resolved or not. Coming to the room, stayed in those independent (twin) cottages which are really big and have a great feel with really good sleep quality. The restaurant and in-room dining experience was amazing. The food tasted great and the atmosphere was awesome. The staff at the restaurant needs a special mention. They were really good. One major drawback (this may not be a drawback for all guests) is the evening open air loud music. Sorry, to say this is a bad choice of an activity for a resort nestled within the natural surroundings. Do rethink about it. Bonfire can happen without a loud speaker and loud music. At least for me this was a complete 'misfit'. Other than this it was a great holiday destination.

We travel the world and have visited many “non western” countries & hotels . We were traveling throughout India for 12 days and this was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. The hotel literally had filthy mattresses stacked in the hallways that they used to add in rooms for additional beds when requested by guests. Our bathroom had a disgusting odor coming up from the drain, as well as black mold in the shower. Additional the amount of dirt that was at the edges of the floor showed it was rarely scrubbed. The room had dead bugs in the room as well as tiny transparent bugs in the bed sheets. Unfortunately, we were five hours from Cochin and had no choice but to stay the night. The food was disgusting and inedible. The water bottles in the room and in the dining area was definitely not sanitary. There was black mold on the rubber rim from the bottles being reused. We left the next day even though we had prepaid for two night. They did not refund the second night. The worst part was we upgraded to a cottage and it was at an additional charge because it was considered a “premium” room.

Everything is excellent 👌. The room were comfortable and well maintained. The food quality was great and so much of varieties. The view from the pool was amazing and the view of the hotel is excellent. The service was amazing and excellent ....the staffs pay attention to all small details of us which makes us comfortable. One of the best hotel in munnar....the property is really big and awesome and events held in different times are must joining .we loved our stay here and it was worth choosing this hotel.The service was top notch 👌. The food quality was excellent 👌. All Staffs were helpful.
