"This place was quite lovely for a 3 star hotel. The check in service was friendly and helpful with navigating the island, and we had help with our luggage up the stairs (thank you!). Great location - very close to the port. We had a small balcony and the amenities were good - kettle and mini bar fridge to make a cup of tea in the morning. The bed was probably what made this place 3 star, but in saying that, for the price, I would recommend this place to stay."

"Premetto: probabilmente ci tornerò. È un posto magico, un resort aperto da poco letteralmente sulla spiaggia e l’unico cinque stelle dell’isola. Abbiamo alloggiato in una suite con piscina privata ed affaccio sulla spiaggia e quindi sul mare: un incanto! Il personale è davvero accogliente e gentile, ad iniziare dal proprietario per continuare con la general manager Desi ed Anthi al ricevimento. Si vede che fanno del loro meglio per rendere il soggiorno meritevole del prezzo pagato. È una struttura ancora in rodaggio, per questo non tutto è perfetto ma la gentilezza e disponibilità delle persone è tale che a me viene facile perdonare le mancanze. Altri temo potranno invece eccepire che se la struttura è cinque stelle ed il prezzo è cinque stelle tutto dev’essere ad un livello di cinque stelle…beh, non mi sento di dire che lo sia già oggi e tuttavia dall’impegno che ci mettono sono molto confidente che ci arriveranno. Una nota di merito va anche allo chef: la colazione , il pranzo servito in spiaggia e la cena al ristorante Captain M sono tutte di qualità eccelsa sia nella freschezza delle materie prime che nel loro trattamento. Per non parlare dell’ incanto di cenare in riva al mare… Però..c’è un però… In due giorni di soggiorno non abbiamo mai potuto godere della spiaggia di fronte alla camera a causa di eventi organizzati per clienti esterni all’hotel… eventi che hanno portato una moltitudine di persone in tale spiaggia vanificando totalmente quel senso di pace e di quiete che renderebbero esclusivo questo posto e giustificherebbero più di ogni altra cosa il prezzo richiesto per la camera… Io capisco che business is business e che tali eventi possano essere remunerativi, capisco anche che l’hotel è avviato da poco e quindi bisogna incrementare il più possibile le entrate anche attraverso clienti esterni , ed ho anche apprezzato che noi “clienti residenti” siamo stati destinati alla spiaggetta più piccola ubicata sull’altro lato della struttura e onestamente anche molto gradevole (nonostante il continuo via vai sull’adiacente molo di approdi di barche private, water taxi e navetta dell’hotel …) però resta il fatto che io ritengo giustificabile pagare cifre importanti per avere l’esclusività di un posto il più possibile riservato, e questo mi è invece totalmente mancato. Tanto da chiedermi (e lasciare questo spunto di riflessione alla proprietà) se la prossima volta che verrò ad Hydra non sarà più sensato soggiornare altrove a prezzi ben più contenuti e venire a mia volta da esterno a godere della bellezza di questa spiaggia e della meravigliosa capacità di accoglienza dello staff del Mandraki Beach Resort… a cui comunque rinnovo i complimenti e l’incitamento a continuare così!"

"Greco Hotel was beautiful and had an outside courtyard where you had your complimentary breakfast. You could also sit there any time of the day and enjoy the lovely gardens around the table and chairs. We had a very nice room, spacious and bright. The breakfast was a feast!"

Yanna e la sua squadra sono andati oltre e sopra per rendere la nostra esperienza sorprendente! "The hotel is in a fantastic location right near the port and some great swimming spots. The rooms and lovely. However, the service was poor. A few examples include: Every day when we left our room they would come into our room and turn the aircon off. As it was 37 degrees during the day, we wanted to come back to a cool room after being out for lunch etc. Each day we asked them to stop doing this and each day they continued. On one occasion I had a 7.30am work call and asked to order a coffee to have while I did this call. They said they were unable to make coffee before 8am - crazy in a luxury hotel at these prices. Every day the barista got my coffee order wrong despite ordering the same thing every day for the duration of our stay. The girl on the front desk was quite rude and unhelpful. She claimed a few times it was just that she didn’t speak English well (which seems concerning given most of the guests staying speak English) however at other times it seemed to be clear she just wanted us to get out of the hotel each day and not ask for assistance for things like reservations for restaurants. In the end we organised things ourselves. On one day the tour guide we had organised for 7pm had called the hotel to cancel and they had not bothered to notify us - we got to reception at 6.45 only then to find our tour was cancelled It’s a shame as the hotel itself is lovely (however I would not recommend it for older guests or those not strong and fit to do lots of stairs - the main staircase is very steep and long - I’m in my mid 30s and found it hard to do each day in the heat. There’s no alternate access). I do hope they improve the service in future if the expect to charge the prices they do for this hotel."

"Una delle tante belle cose sull'hotel Phaedra è la sua posizione. Così bella posizione, è una passeggiata facile al porto, e là si dispone di una scelta eccezionale di cibo, bevande, grandi shopping ma soprattutto il vivace e incantevole villaggio. e vicinanza all'acqua. La bella stanza è tornata all'hotel, e la giornata è stata un'ottima aria condizionata, che la settimana scorsa ha avuto un enorme bonus. E' anche, abbastanza lontano, in una parte affascinante di Hydra che si può sentire coinvolto nella vita del villaggio... e essere così fortunato a essere in grado di fare Hydra una destinazione per una splendida vacanza."
