Hotel Podstine

En general es buen hotel . Cerca de Hvar pero lo suficientemente lejos del bullicio. El área de piscinas y playa es excelente. Las habitaciones es lo más débil , nos tocó una sin vista , pequeña y nunca salió agua caliente en el baño. El personal atento y dispuesto .

The best thing about Podstine hotel has got to be its outside spaces. It’s right up on a hill so gives you spectacular views. There’s a small pool and their own private bay with sunbeds provided and it was all so picturesque and peaceful. It didn’t feel crowded there and we were always able to get a space. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, lots of smiles and they always said hello as you walk by. The breakfast was also great. Loads of choice! Particularly liked that they had crepes with real Nutella, several types of cooked eggs and sausages, and plenty of fruit. You can eat your breakfast outside looking over the amazing view of the sea. The room was ok. We didn’t get a room with a balcony and we regretted that. The wet towels etc. hanging in the bathroom gave off a bad damp smell, and we had a very small window facing a wall, so even in the daytime the room was very dark. One of the light switches was broken so we had the choice of the room being extremely brightly lit, or very dimly lit by a lamp on a side table. There was no real happy medium. The decor in the room could do with updating and it needs some touch ups. The shower had good water pressure but it was all just a bit dank and tired. The bed was comfortable though, and the size of the room was good. I would return to this hotel, as long as I had a room with a balcony! It’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre - walking to the hotel from the port is doable (I managed it!) but not super easy with big suitcases as it is very uphill in some areas.

Lovely hotel in quiet area. 20 minutes walk to town centre. Buffet breakfast had a good selection. Room was very clean and spacious with everything needed. Outdoor area is fantastic with large table terrace area, small pool and direct access to the sea for swimming. Sun loungers and large bean bags also available at quiet private water front. Friendly and helpful staff. Special mention to Borna who was very attentive. We will definitely return.

The absolute best stay at hotel podstine. Starting with the things we loved. The room we stayed in was incredible, very big, lots of wardrobe space, a safe, nice bathroom and two balconies. Room 305 is a must. The view is spectacular. Only downside, which was fine for two women in their 20s but for people with mobility issues I wouldn’t recommend is the walk from Hvar is 20 minutes mostly flat except for two big flights of stairs which wouldn’t suit older patrons.

Love the location, a short 15 min walk on the water promenade to town. Ask for directions. quiet location, fabulous rocky shoreline with water acces. Beautiful secluded cove Presidents beach next door, great for swimming. multiple levels of padded lounge chairs or bean bag beds. Bed was comfy, if a bit hard, BR could be updated. Hotel Rooms are very basic with no English speaking TV exceptNews channels. Was seeking TV as during a heat wave needed some reprieve inside. Rooms somewhat tired with bed backboard as a cushion that was pretty gross as obviously does not get changed between guests. Hotel is Beachside with a lovely swimming area. Sundecks are great as long as you get in early to save one. Buffet breakfast included and was extensive and fresh, very tasty. Coffees made to order, which was really appreciated . The drinks poolside were good pricing. Aperol €10 and half litre local beer five euro. A taxi ride to town centre was €20 or 25 minute walk with hills and steps which was a challenge in the heat . so hotel is very isolated, but Restaurant served good meal within, We ate cuttlefish fish risotto and prawn tagliatelle which were both very tasty and fairly priced. I had a Swedish massage which was absolutely delightful, highly recommend

Lovely little boutique hotel just 20min away from Hvar Town. The room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There were not many different kinds of bread for breakfast, but they have fresh pancakes and the staff is constantly checking what needs to be replaced. Overall breakfast was good with good assortment of cheeses (and charcuterie) and fresh honey from a honeycomb. The pool is smaller than we anticipated and the sauna light was not working (but the sauna itself was). But that said, the hotel still has a nice area with subbed and access to the water, so you can still relax in the facilities of the hotel. Very lovely and helpful staff! If you are not traveling light, consider taking a taxi from Hvar town upon your arrival as you will need to climb some stairs on your way there.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay 2 years ago so we decided to return again for a few nights. Our room was nice and spacious. The best part of this hotel is the outside views. It’s nice to sit outside with a glass of wine after dinner. The breakfast is still very good and there are plenty of options. The prices for their lunch/dinner menu are entirely too high. I was also stopped by a staff member for bringing my own drink because “they sell food and drinks here.” This was another change from our last visit. It’s understandable, BUT if you want people to buy beer, soda, water, and food at the hotel, guests should receive a discount of some sort. Overall, we still enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to other travelers.

Hvar is a hilly, party-focused town that can be noisy. However, the Podstine Hotel offers a more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The hotel comes with a private beach, though it lacks sandy beaches typical of the region. Just note the rest of Hvar charges €40 per day to use a beach sun lounger, so it's a massive bonus to have a private beach. Our superior room had sea views, though the room was slightly dated despite being large and very clean. The view was partially blocked by a palm tree, and the large balcony went largely unused. Temperatures are currently over 30°C/90°F in this area. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection including coffee, smoked salmon, eggs, and various other foods. There have been previous reviews complaining about the distance from the town center. Hvar is quite hilly, so getting around requires some effort. Walking to the town takes around 25 minutes along the waterfront path which is lit at night, or 15 minutes by road. Taxis cost approximately €20. In summary, Podstine offers a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere compared to the lively town, but it does require more walking. The tradeoff is the ability to enjoy Hvar's culinary delights and a peaceful night's sleep away from the bustling town center. The hotel's service has been excellent, with staff consistently delivering drinks to guests on the beach sun loungers. We have loved this stay
