So disappointing This place is in desperate need of a complete refurbishment The bedrooms were boiling hot all night and we had to sleep on top of the bed with the window open. The mattress was like being on a water bed because of the softness and lack of support. The breakfast when we finally got it, was so over done I can’t believe they served it up. £127 wasted on a terrible stay that ruined our meet up with friends.

I visited The Kings Head with friends and it was very cosy and welcoming. I was served quickly and the atmosphere of the pub was very welcoming and friendly. The staff were very kind, in particular I had a conversation with Robyn at the bar who made me feel welcome and was very friendly whilst making our drinks. Will definitely be visiting again!

First the areas of excellence… The manager and her team and the food. I was attending a wedding that had taken over the entire venue for 24 hours. Areas for improvement lie with Head Office.. you need to spend money ! The carpets are threadbare & stained. In spite of a good clean the bathroom was very tired… stained toilet bowl, grouting etc. Upon opening drawers they had bits missing from the bottom so impossible to store anything. Whilst I slept well the bed was very old and soft. One issue which possibly could be resolved locally is the central heating didn’t work and it was cold in the bedroom. Thank goodness for the electric heated towel rail! Was looking forward to sampling your own beers… disappointed that only 2 were available. However, the food was excellent both at the wedding and breakfast the next day. Susie is a gem, working very hard and encouraging her team who were all very pleasant and helpful.

Been tot he kings head a few time over the last few years and I would say it has got better and better to the point I felt compelled to drop it a 5 star review Food excellent Food choice excellent Prices reasonable Drink selection excellent Service friendly and quick Ambience gives you both the pub or dining room experience Hursley is lucky to have you! Ps they are brilliant even when you forget to close out your tab and let me do it by phone!

Total disappointment. Having waited a while to have our order taken was told 10 minutes later that the meal is no longer available so we reordered. We then had to wait 40 minutes for our meal to finally arrive. I had to ask where the food was (nobody bothered to let us know there was a delay) to be told there is a delay because they are under staffed. ( Not an excuse. Please don't accept customer's if you know you don't have enough staff for the day) the food finally arrived and was a complete disappointment. It arrived cold and bland and my friends meal was slightly burnt and dry. I explained my disappointment to the girl serving us and she passed the message on to the stand in manager. No real apology ( not sure if he was trained in management) but said he would not charge for the coffees. Such a disappointing lunch and especially as it was a treat for my birthday. Unfortunately I won't be returning.

This is a lovely hotel set in the picturesque village of Hursley which is halfway between Winchester and the market town of Romsey. I only had the chance to sample their breakfast, but OMG what a breakfast! I've always had a thing for eggs benedict, but this was in a class of it's own! Beautifully presented & washed down with proper coffee set me up for the day nicely. This is well worth a visit, it is well connected to local towns & motorways but set in the heart of the countryside so is great for walks and other attractions.

Sunday lunch - a disappointment. The four of us all had the roast. The meat was overcooked and dry. Potatoes bland, cabbage undercooked. Yorkshire puddings too perfectly round to be home cooked. However the cauliflower cheese was gorgeous. And so was the mackerel pate starter. I had the after 8 ice cream which was a very small single scoop served in a deep soup bowl - ridiculous. The service was poor. Had to ask for the table to be cleared after mains - a waiter came, took one plate, then never came back so we plonked it all on the next table. Such a shame as the atmosphere, decor, etc is exactly what you want for a local.

Food was ok Service left a lot to be desired Sat down with menu and waited 15 minutes and had to ask a member of staff for a drink. food was ok but definite lack of staff Nice pub but needed the lighting dimmed as so bright It felt a little impersonal
