Had a fabulous afternoon with friends celebrating an early New Year’s Eve, pub was bouncing with customers and great atmosphere. Terrible weather had probably increased footfall but staff took it all in their stride and accommodated everyone. Slight delay with table we had booked but no issue at all, food was great, staff friendly and helpful. Even went back for lunch today. Thank you 🤩

This is a place we come to every so often and always have a great time there. It is a down-to-earth Pub with no pretensions but it has an awful lot going for it. Located in a small village of Ings we tend to drive 10 minutes or so to Grasmere and do a lovely walk from the centre to the round Rydal Water. This is quite tiring so there's something very special about going back to this cosy pub and having a pint of the Windermere beer brewed on the premises. We stayed overnight in our room was small but very comfortable. The bathroom door could do with oiling as it does squeak a bit but other than that Just enjoy the comfortable bed and lovely bedding. Breakfast is included and it is fantastic. Locally sourced food and I challenge you to eat it all!We got the bacon and sausage to Takeaway as it was just too good to leave and some of the best we've ever had. The staff are helpful and friendly and good fun as well. If you want a no stress short break this could be your place and it is highly recommended.

Can't fault the beer .shame about the pork belly .soggy skin no crackling no mention it was smoked either which I don't mind but should be on the description .pork belly needs cracking not soggy skin .expensive Sunday roast and the topside beef was tasteless and overdone ..mentioned to the waiter who didn't know the pork was smoked either .so please get the description right .

we went here for lunch...my wife had the sirloin steak which she said was succulent, and the onions crisp and delicious. I had the scampi accompanied by crispy homemade chips. We have been here on a number of occasions, and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, very tasty food. Bit of a wait but they looked busy and worth it for such brilliant food. Highly recommend the Watermill Chicken. We didn’t have puddings but I’m sure they would be excellent too. Went home full and happy!

We've stayed countless numbers of times, the places is just so good! Set in the delightful little hamlet of Ings, it's a perfect place to stay/eat/drink if you are looking for a base near Windermere or you are just on your way to the Lake District. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, food is excellent and the on-site brewery produces some of the finest real ales in the Lakes. There are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and a charming brook runs along side the property. It's also a cosy place to visit in winter. Staff are always friendly and helpful and overall. It's great value for money. Dogs are also welcome inside. We'll be going back soon!
