We just got back from our ski trip. The hotel is pretty bang average, another word to describe it in some instances is carnage. I think we had high expectations which was maybe our own fault. Firstly the check in process was pretty awful, we went with Crystal Ski who said check in opened at 5pm, they told us it was 6pm, and when we challenged they then told us the room is in fact ready. They gave us no info about the hotel, location, food times, we had to ask all of this, which was quite frustrating. The lobby area is just always so busy, people checking in at all times of the day but because they have this ridiculous 6pm check in, the luggage just goes everywhere, one of the days, the luggage room was full, so was a spare area they have for seating and it all ended up just being left in the main lobby, meaning you just have to dodge bags when walking through. The rooms are really small, luckily only two of us, so not too bad, the location is good, only a short ski to the Marmottes lift but it is not a ski in location, and only ski out in pretty good snow conditions. The locker/ski area is utter carnage, there are no lockers per say, just a dumping ground to shove skis in, we hardly used this because the first time we did, someone had just knocked our ski’s over and then didn’t pick them back up. They will give you a number of where to put your stuff but again, it’s just carnage and no one follows it. The spa is a bit of a joke, the pool is heated but is still freezing and far too cold to go in, unless you are doing a proper swim session (in which it’s too small to do so). You can only go into the Spa once per week after 4pm, and by spa, it’s only a Sauna, they got rid of the jacuzzi over a year ago, which is odd. Breakfast and dinner were pretty good, fair amount of options and the quality of food was good, desert a particular favourite. It does get extremely busy, and it’s a relatively small area so you spend a lot of time having to dodge people. The bar has some good drinks, we opted for the cocktails mainly (we were half board, not all inclusive), don’t think they were too overpriced either. We did hear from the people on all inclusive they ran out of beer one night, which didnt go down well. Other reviews sort of mentioned this but the reception team control everything, any little thing you want like a hairdryer you have to ask for it, they also control the heating in the rooms, which we didn’t even realise until one of the last days. So if you need to dry your clothes or it’s not as warm, you need to ask them to turn it up etc Overall, we had a great time at the resort, slopes were amazing, but I was really disappointed in the hotel, and I would not return here again, for the price we paid and the outcome, it just wasn’t worth it.
