The Stirling Arms Pub & Rooms

This is the best Sunday Roast I’ve had in a very long time. I’ve eaten in many restaurants and pubs in Brighton but have to say this ticks all my boxes. The staff are friendly and caring and the a**osphere is fabulous. The chef certainly knows his stuff too we were a table of 10 and all meals came out on time and beautifully served. First class all round. I will be back and often. Do your self a favour and check it out.

I stayed in ROOM 3 OVER THE CHRIS**AS PERIOD I wished i has looked at the room before i paid and i may have changed my mind about staying The room had damp on the walls paint flakeing and black mould starting a the back corner of the shower and when you go in the shower at first you can smell the damp Also i was there 4 night and only two little things of milk and a started toilet roll which did not last the 4 night i used the tissues. also you need a better cleaner as dust round the edges ,hope she could pick up my sock pieces My son found the the Stirling Arms as we some times have lunch there when i am down so i felt i could not complain as it would have spoilt our time together small room no where to sit no coat pegs for coats such a small wardrobe in all you are not value for money It is a shame and you are so close to my son as i am often down i have chosen i leave feed back on trip adviser as you have not bothered to contact me , your manager took my complaint on the phone 716 pounds was very loaded for a room like that

Our children go to St Andrew school which is the next road along and we’ve always gone to The Stirling end of term to have a drink and get the kids food. Always been a great experience. UNTIL THEY CHANGED MANAGEMENT!!! Last day of Chris**as term booked a table for 10 people. We bought drinks and food and smarties Which the pub sold! When one of the ladies bought the bowls of chips for the children she aggressively slammed the food on the table and demanded any smarties on the floor should be picked up now…while saying this fell to the floor picking up smarties throwing them on the table! As a parent I chose to not say anything and sort my children placing their chips on the table. I then went to the bar to hear her talking badly about our CHILDREN!! Which I mentioned to another bar woman I had heard. This lady then proceeded to come over and aggressively argue with me in front of the children that the smarties are doing to ruin the floor, never mind the red wine that had been spilt on the table next to us on the floor that was ok. VILE TO CHILDREN!!!! AGGRESSIVE TO CHILDREN AND PAYING RESIDENTS!!! Will never go back

Nice, clean hotel, only drawback being noise from pub within which it’s located. Overall- friendly, helpful service, comfortable room

Rooms are entered and exited on an outside ‘fire escape’ stairway at the rear of the property. Door into a very cramped area leading to the rooms. Small room with metal shelved cabinet, so nowhere to hang clothes. Shower room with high window which can’t be opened. We were booked in for two nights, but left after one night. No breakfast available, so too much money for a very inadequate room.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are very basic digs, bed, tea making stuff, and a nice modern rain shower. There's no fridge or AC as expected in a pub room, I did find though that the room was unusually warm all the time. I kept the window open for my entire stay, had a fan in the room (supplied by the pub) and it was still pretty warm. Not sure where the heat is coming from, it was cool and overcast all the time I was there and the pub downstairs is cool. Who knows, but if you're from USA staying here and are use to AC then this may be a little out your comfort zone. Staff were amazing, nice friendly clean pub, great selection of food and drinks, and it's tucked away nicely away from the main roads. Beach is a 5 minute walk, bus into Brighton is even closer, all in all it's a solid 9/10. And if you don't mind a slightly warm room at night, then this will be a 10/10 place for you.

Disappointed.! Price ok. Useful in that it was near our son who we were visiting. It was hot and the room was very hot. There was a fan. The window was fixed so that it would not open beyond 6 inches. The bed was big and comfortable. The tv was good . The bathroom was ok but the loo seat was yucky and wobbly. No excuse for that. I cleaned it up with loo paper and water. Think the room was cleaned with a lick and a promise. The entrance key lock was nearly jammed until they oiled it. Management a tad lacking I think. Price ok. Need to park on street - Pay by Phone App required.

Great little local pub with a fab range of beers and drinks. Let down by sub standard bank holiday food offerings. Bland and sadly lacking in taste and imagination. The kitchen needs direction and identity. Nice service
