Mount Bay

Beautiful place with everything you want. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this wonderful gem of a place in Hout Bay. The views are simply stunning - from the awesome & well appointed picture window, overlooking Hout Bay itself, with a mountainous backdrop, it is a beautiful view to wake up to ... in all weathers! The apartment was spotlessly clean (thank you Naomi!) and the kitchenette is well equipped, with the considerable advantage of the very spacious outside balcony/terrace where you can enjoy breakfast with a panoramic vista which is hard to beat! We felt safe and secure at all times and we particularly appreciated the onsite generator (inverter) so that periodical load shedding (commonplace in Cape Town) was never an issue for us! There is a convenient coded keystore for travellers who arrive at odd hours, enabling access to the accommodation and each apartment has a further coded keystore at each apartment door. We thought the onsite washing machine, located in the communal hall landing on the 1st floor (complete with soap powder - how thoughtful!) was extremely helpful as we arrived after a 2 week trek along the Garden Route! Stay longer than we did - it is such a wonderful apartment ... just a 3 minute drive from the centre of Hout bay - you won't want to leave! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Mount Bay with amazing views over Hout Bay. The apartement is modern, very well maintained, fully equipped, spacy to make your stay very comfortable. The área of Mount Rhodes is a prestige living área not far away from Llandudno Beach, Camps Bay. Richard the host and his staff makes everything possible to ensure your stay is perfect. Definitly we will be back!

What was meant to be a relaxing weekend break with my wife turned out to be stressful , after sarcastic replies from owner when I pointed out my room had no views , since this was the reason I booked.( the owner would not accommodate or refund. Then to top it off , we were without water for almost 2 days. The TV was also not working , and on site staff available was not able to fix the issue.Since i was not sure if water was going to be turned on , we checked out a day early. I will def not return nor recommend Mount Bay.

We had a wonderful stay at Mount Bay guest house. The apartment we had (Saigon) was equipped with everything required and well maintained. The manager was readily available and responsive via What's App. The area of Mount Rhodes is a prestige living area of Hout Bay far away from the not so pleasant hot spots of that town. By car it is a few minutes away from the shopping centre of Hout Bay, 10 minutes to Llandudo beach and less than 20 minutes from Camps Bay and (over the hill) Constantia. The area itself appears totally safe and quiet. You need however, no doubt about this, a car. Parking space is available on the property and curbside. We appreciated that the property is totally a non smoking property. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. No smell or debris of cigarettes whatsoever.
