Located on the property of Northwinds Adventures (a year round camp) this cozy and inviting barn offers everything inside and out. Once you step inside you will be welcomed with the gorgeous reclaimed Tennessee oak railing hardwood floors. The main floor consist of a free standing wood fireplace, new appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave), coffee maker, all the pots and pans needed for cooking, oak paneling, futon, satellite TV, and a half bath. Upstairs, find a large main bedroom with queen bed(linens provided), Full futon in sitting area, maple paneling, and a full bath (walk-in shower) with washer/dryer. From the upper level, take a walk out on the deck and enjoy the beautiful overlook showcasing only part of the property. The Portage Centre is a fully remodeled 3 bed/3 bath luxury home. The guest area consists of the entire 1750 sf main floor while the basement was retained by the owner for storage, caretaker apartment and is inaccessible to guests. While staying at The Portage Centre, guests do not share spaces or amenities with anyone else. The property is located along Hancock Street (US41) and is in the middle of everything. If you are a light sleeper there is a chance the traffic noise could wake you in the front bedroom. The Master bedroom is located in the rear of the building and traffic will not affect most sleepers. Located across the bridge from Michigan Tech and only a few miles from beaches and trails, you'll have access to all of your interests here. It's a great home base for exploring the UP or treating your student to a home cooked meal.The main floor has a comfortable living room, eating area, and a fully functioning kitchen with additional seating. A side entrance conveniently opens to the laundry room and bathroom with shower. Upstairs has three bedrooms. Two have Queen size beds and one has trundle beds that could be pushed together for a short King. Each bed has a memory foam topper, plush pillows and either a Smart TV or a TV with an Amazon Fire Stick attached. Window air conditioning units are installed during the summer months.**Please note** We are located along Lincoln Dr (US-41) and the snowmobile trail. I would hate to lose your business because of it, but I would rather make sure you are happy with your stay. If you are a very light sleeper, other accommodations might be better suited for your needs. Three bedroom lakehome 5 minutes from Michigan Technological University, on beautiful Portage Lake. All the amenities of home, including 3 queen sized beds, a twin bed, and a pull-out couch, for sleeping up to 10! New appliances include a full kitchen with a dishwasher, and a laundry in the basement. The main bathroom has a tub/shower, and there is plenty of space to spread out in the living room. Cable TV and WiFi are provided.The outdoor sauna sits a few steps from the water, and is perfect for sauna / swim activities! There is also a gazebo on the lakeshore that offers a comfortable place to sit with shelter and a great view of the lake and swimming area. The lake bottom is sand and ranges from zero to 3 feet in depth near the dock. A rock fire ring near the lake is a perfect way to spend the evening with friends by the fire, roasting marshmallows. We have 2 kayaks and 4 bikes in the basement that you are free to use to explore the lake, or the miles long waterfront trail from MTU through Chassell. Portage Lake is a great fishing lake because it is open to Superior, with Walleye, Pike, Bass and much more.
