In its iconic location up above the sea The Cottage is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of Devon. Hope Cove is a family friendly place with two lovely beaches and others nearby. Sarah and William and the team at the Cottagewere very welcoming and our room (one of the newly decorated in the new part of the hotel was stunning). Most rooms have balconies and are real sun traps. The terrace overlooking the sea is one of our favourite places for a drink and lunch is excellent value. The Cottage is a very special, family run place with the charm of a bygone era. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

I was treated to a long weekend with my wife and dogs down at the Cottage Hotel in Hope Cove. We had a first floor room with a balcony and views over both bays. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, bath/shower en-suite and a balcony with chairs and a small table. The room was very comfortable and I only wish we'd have had more time to enjoy the views and sunsets. We had booked for evening meals and breakfasts in the hotel and we were so pleased. The quality of the food was exceptional and I can highly recommend the 5 course dinners. The bar was excellent too with prices the same or cheaper than the local pubs. An absolute bonus to find a hotel that would allow guests to leave dogs in their bedroom while the owners had dinner/breakfast. The staff were so friendly and professional, I was actually a little sorry to leave. I can't believe this is only a 3 star hotel.

From the moment we walked through the doors of this unique time capsule we knew that we would be in for a regal experience. Much akin to the grand Budapest, the concierge could not do enough to see we were made to feel like guests of honour in Hope Cove’s premier establishment. The complimentary nuts on the bar were a delightful touch after we were served a well deserved pint after a long walk back from the other pub where we had consumed several other pints. We decided to stop for dinner in the hotel that we were staying in and the excellent value set menu option did not not disappoint as much as we thought they might. The waiters in tux’s were by far a hilight and went above and beyond to make sure our group were made to feel special; a bond was formed. Our food and drink left little to be desired as was very very good. My phone however is bigger than the TV in the rooms but thankfully due to the quality of the wine we passed our fairly sharpish after a lovely long evening of eating and drinking. God bless the Cottage.

Beautiful hotel, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Such a wonderful welcome for me, my partner and our puppy . Beautiful view from the bedroom, everything we need was provided. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal, 5 courses was real value, topped off with a beautiful buffet breakfast. Will we be back thank you Neil.

Excellent Christmas meal and superb service. The unobstructed sea view from our room has to be the best EVER. Friendly hard-working staff, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable room and bed, clean. Lots of choice at breakfast. Highly recommended.

From the moment you enter The Cottage Hotel you are made to feel like a special guest. All the staff looked after us so well and always with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Loved the old part of the hotel with its history and interesting features. The new part has been done to such a high standard with quality interior design and light and airy rooms. We were lucky enough to stay in a premier sea view room and it really was stunning and what a view to wake up to. We left feeling so relaxed and can’t wait to visit again soon. Well done Neil and team.

Stopped off for tea/coffee etc. Lovely views from balcony. Service excellent. The pot of tea contained a bog standard round tea bag. Extra water was provided but would have made the tea very weak. I would expect a better quality tea at this price point. The pot of coffee was very similar. Not sure why they don't offer cappuccino, etc. The building could do with some work, mostly a good paint.

Excellent location, great staff, Neil the General Manager couldn’t be anymore attentive, fantastic. Wonderful food. Lovely holiday. Really recommend.

We needed a break from life and stayed at the Cottage Hotel for just two nights. A perfect place to escape. Wonderful views. Excellent service and food in the bar and restaurant. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We will be back again very soon.
