This was our first time staying at Riptide. Our experience started off great with a gentleman working the desk named Oscar. He and other staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As we walked into our room, the first impression was the smell of cleanliness. It is an older hotel that has taken on some updates I could tell. The bathroom appeared to be newly tiled and was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the view cannot be beat. Overall a very good place to stay for a couple of nights stay.

We booked a room on September 12th through an online third-party service for three nights in Hollywood, Florida starting November 13th at Greniers Hotel. We received confirmation emails and brought our confirmation number with us for check-in. Our driver dropped us off at the address provided, along with our seven pieces of luggage, as we had just returned from a cruise. Three of these bags were nearly 50 lbs each. My husband went to find the office at this address, only to find out that the main office was a block and a half away. I stayed with our luggage on the side of the road to await his return. Fifteen minutes later, in the 90-degree weather, my husband returned, only to tell me that they didn’t have our reservation on file. Because we had already paid for this room online, we called the online booking agency to see what happened. They confirmed that we did have a reservation with this hotel, and we were there on the correct date. They provided us with a confirmation number, and my husband again walked 1-½ blocks to the office in the heat. I received a phone call from him several minutes later, telling me that the hotel STILL did not have our reservation, even with the provided booking number. We again called our online booking agency, who was at no fault, and they canceled our reservation and returned our deposit. Two hours later, and still sitting on the side of a street in Florida with all of our luggage, we made a reservation with a nearby hotel, The Flamingo, got a taxi, and were dropped off at a new location. To our dismay, we made a reservation with a “sister” hotel that used the same office as the first. However, the hotel received our reservation and payment, so we thought all was well. We learned that Greniers and The Flamingo are owned by Hollywood Beach Hotels. After checking in, we were shown to our room near the office. As soon as we opened the door, we were in shock. The drapes on the only window in the room were closed, and the room was dark and dingy. After opening the drapes, we understood why they were closed, as the window overlooked a sitting area where people were gathered, chatting, eating, smoking,etc. The room emitted a very strong and unpleasant smell of pine cleaner, yet the whole room was filthy. The front door was filthy, and had fingerprints, grime and dirt all the way down the inside edge. A sitting chair near the door was covered with what looked like vomit. The bed had no lamps next to it, but there was one main light overhead with a ceiling fan. The television hung awkwardly on the wall with cords hanging. The kitchenette was filthy, and had layers of dust on all of the walls. There was an air conditioner in the kitchen in the only window there, and it was blowing the dust in the room to the walls. There weren’t enough plug-ins in the kitchen, so they had added an extension cord and power outlet over the kitchen sink. This could prove very dangerous if you had an item plugged in

Mixed feelings on this review. Gave them the benefit of the doubt in a 4 instead of a 3. Probably would give a 3.5 if possible. The ambiance was actually amazing as well as the location. The room was actually perfect for what we were there for and that was a quick evening before catching our cruise the next day but would have met the needs for a 3-4 day trip as well. Love the little kitchen. The guy that checked us out was polite l, courteous and had a good vibe to him. The drawbacks. The bed was the biggest and I’m there to sleep and rest so that was a drag but thankful only one night. I have slept on worse but I’d give it a 4/10. The little bar there has so much potential with location and comfort. Could literally keep your guests right there if you had a better operation. The bartenders the night we were there were so slow and I mean slow because I’m very careful when I write anything negative about another and their job. One of them had zero energy like she was on sleeping meds. The drinks were horrible but reasonably priced if they were good drinks. I liked the live music and the guy was typical average for that kind of venue but super genuine and cool about what he was doing. I won’t lie, I would stay here again. The location is tough to beat with some great restaurants very close and the price was pretty solid. I could make the bed work for a 2-3 night trip for those conveniences.

Il manager deve aver capito al 71, la mia esasperazione con il viaggio ha mostrato. Mi ha trasferito in un'unità di pavimento. Non era un'unità, ma un appartamento. Un piccolo porchetto, un giardino con salotto, un cammino a 500 piedi verso il tavolo e la spiaggia. Una cucina (lunga soggiorno, portare degli utensili) che era pulita e temperata. Pensa intelligente, lasciava aperta la porta del frigorifero (spazzata). Mattress GRANDE. Bello colazione, ampia. Volevo andare di nuovo - - - Oh sì! Hanno diversi edifici in un cluster, quindi la piscina è condivisa. L'Atlantico era un giardino, ma ero appena arrivato dalla Jamaica dove era caldo. Oltre 40 +++ con pochi gemelli e gemelli hanno un piccolo negozio conveniente ma ti consiglierei fermare in uno dei grandi negozi (WinDixie o WM) fuori dalla strada e caricare se ti stai facendo una cucina con la tua prenotazione ...può prendere o portare insieme un caldo, un panino frigorifero e qualunque altra cosa ti serve.Ascolta, non lamentarti degli utensili.Avrei avuto noleggi e gli ospiti prenderebbero il pavimento se potessero avere un tizio a prendere un sedile.Vai a figurare.Goditi. La spiaggia è molto vicina e 500 piedi potrebbe non darvi una vista frontale, ma vi dà pace e tranquillità perché la passeggiata e la spiaggia e diventano piuttosto rumorosi. Scusa, non foto. Oh, per favore, si rende conto che le loro tariffe sono molto ragionevoli. Vuoi una vista? Pianifica anche un extra di $120 per questo. Spera che ha risparmiato per cena e un giorno extra qui.

Friendly stuff, the location is awesome, the room was ok but Not well soundproofed, I could hear the next room and bellow room conversation and music… hopefully they stopped at midnight!

I checked in on 1/25 and Kirwin took excellent care of me as does Anyi each visit. I really appreciate the level of guest service I receive each week for my weekly staycations. I really enjoyed the room Kirwin assigned me. I stayed in RM 1306 and it was very quiet, comfortable, and very clean. I’m literally feet away from the Broadwalk and the beach. Thank you all for always providing excellent guest service each stay! Shawn B
