Macondo Holbox Hotel Boutique

First note! The staff are 100% amazing, kind and friendly. We took room 10, this is located on the lower level at the end of the walkway. It was fortunate that with this location we didn't have passing guest traffic walking past our room, so we felt like we were in a private area. The staff area was very close to us but we really didn't mind because we didn't meet a staff person we didn't like. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard, with coffee left for the morning pot. We had to go buy water to make the coffee, but the tienda was not too far away to buy supplies. The location could not be more amazing, only half a block to the beach, we could see the ocean when we stepped out from the lobby. I must mention, this hotel is located very close to town, and is immediately in front of a hostel with a bar (located on the next street), the bar had music every night until midnight or just after. At the weekend the hotel is very full and noisy...why, because the stairs to go up to the higher rooms are directly behind Room 10. We could hear very loudly the transition of other guests and kids going up and down the stairs, sometimes for hours! The room above us, Number 11, was noisy, two times we had to request they stop walking and walking and walking across their room and moving furniture. the noise from this was incredible. Also, if you are allergic to pets this place is pet friendly. A room close to us had three large dogs staying with their owners, they left them alone at night to bark in the room until they returned. The hotel only has one hairdryer to share will all the guests, so it has to be returned to the front desk after use. Clothes quickly got damp and did not dry very fast, not at all in the room, we put some things outside to dry but they did not dry completely. Overall, our stay was good, we were located close to all we needed in Holbox, the only issue was the noise, and music from neighbors and other guests. Note: there is a lot of walking in Holbox on uneven streets and sidewalks, we constantly saw people walking to different areas of the beaches to the East and the West, honestly I got a little tired of the walking and the uneven streets. Don't wear shoes you value they will be destroyed walking around. Strong flip flops or sandals are advisable.

Absolutely avoid ! We booked the hotel after checking it out on instagram / Airbnb - the photos are nothing like rooms. The rooms are small and dark, with very little windows. Most of the day there is no hot water, and no wifi in rooms. No new towels / sheets, the towels have holes in them. When we checked in all we saw are other people trying to switch rooms or ask for refund and leave. The windows in the rooms have no locks.

Mi mejor amiga y yo nos quedamos 4 noches aquí. Todo el staff es maravilloso. En especial Isa la recepcionista de noche. Nos dio la mejor atención. Melu también es súper atenta y servicial. El hotel está súper bien ubicado. Y si, hay mucho ruido en la noche por el bar que está en la parte de atrás, pero termina a la misma hora que te vas a dormir si vas de fiesta a Holbox. Los cuartos están limpios y lindos. Si lo recomiendo.

Desde el momento de la llegada te puedes dar cuenta del "servicio al huésped" pues no había nadie en la recepción y tuvimos que esperar como 15 min qué alguien apareciera. -El servicio de la recepcionista Paola deja mucho que desear, para todo lo que pidas es un NO. - Pésima información proporcionada por parte de la misma recepcionista referente al "convenio" para tomar desayuno en el Club de Playa ZOMAY. Ella comento que el costo real era de $350 mxn y que por ser huéspedes de MACONDO costaba $250 con derecho a quedarte en el Beach Club todo el día... Guess what?! MENTIRA. El precio es el mismo $250 mxn y tienes que pagar consumo extra de $600 mxn por persona para estar en el Beach Club ZOMAY. Pesimaaa información -El segundo día se quedo sin agua y luz la mitad de la isla: nadie nos avisó hasta que vimos que el AC ya estaba apagado, todo el día no nos pudimos bañar y tuvimos que buscar en cada restaurante un baño "decente". - Limpieza por "encimita" las toallas no fueron reemplazadas porque no las pusimos en el suelo (información que nunca fue proporcionada y no hay información en la habitación) las tazas sucias y sábanas manchadas de sangre. -No tiene secadora, mini fridge, plancha y la cafetera sucia por todos lados. -Otra información falsa proporcionada por la recepcionista al momento de hacer la reserva es que teníamos "vista parcial al mar".... Ok solo vi un árbol - Excelente ubicación, muy cerca del mar y habitación amplia es lo único bueno que rescato de esta estancia. - No lo recomiendo pues no hay relación calidad/precio.

Lo bueno es que la habitación era bastante amplia, fresca y cómoda, con dos camas grandes, tenían toallas extras para ir a la playa. Tiene muy buena ubicación cerca del centro y de la playa. Lo que me eché de menos es que no dan desayuno. Y definitivamente me incomodó que cuando nos íbamos fueron a revisar la habitación antes de darnos el pase de salida.

D'apparence extérieur, l'hôtel est typique, local et à 2 mins à pied de l'eau. Il est légèrement excentré du centre et tant mieux, car à Holbox, toute la journée il y a les bruits de moteur des voitures de Golf, c'est incessant. Cependant il y a un restaurant au dessus de l'hôtel + musique donc n'espérez pas fermer l'œil avant 1h du matin... Les chambres doubles simples sont au rez-de-chaussée sans aucune vue sur l'extérieur donc très sombres et avec le passage incessant des autres clients et de ceux du restaurant. Ces chambres sont à rafraîchir... Les chambres du 1er étage ont un petit balcon donc attention les photos avec belle terrasse ne concernent que 2 chambres.. Au vu du prix, offrir le petit déjeuner serait vraiment un minimum
