Villas Caracol

We absolutely loved every second of our 4-nights stay. This was the best hotel we stayed at so far during all of our travels. We got welcomed with a delicious welcome drink and then got guided to our room with pool view. We had a little seating area in front of our room, which we really liked. Our room was huge and nicely decorated. Everything was clean and well looked after. Every evening we received a small treat from the kitchen, which was always delicious. The beach was right in front of the hotel and there were lots of sunbeds exclusively reserved for us hotel guests. Also the pool area was very nice and spacious. To get to the village we used taxis (150 pesos per drive) or bikes that we rented in the village. It took us around 5 (taxi) to 10 (bike) minutes to get to the city centre. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious and offered a big selection of different kinds of food. All of the staff members were amazing and super friendly. We always felt welcome and well looked after. When watching the sunset from the beach we even got a free drink from the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Holbox. Thank you to the full team, you are amazing! We will definitely come back, when we're on the island again.

Upfront, you need to know what an incredible Team they have. We have stayed there three out of the last four years and have never been disappointed. Several of the staff are still there from our first visit. Beto, Mariela and Daniela were there for our first visit and continue to provide exemplary service. Franco and Adael the last two times—five stars. And, the night “security” who was more like a concierge/bellman as we sat on the beach star watching most nights. In the end, there’s a big reason I know their names. What a Team! Tenured staff at all levels Restaurant has good quantity and quality options, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Beachfront is perfect for gazing, strolling or dipping. Cons: Difficult to come up with any unless you were wanting a Spring Break environment Because it is so small, an ill behaved family could have a large negative impact. (Our third time and the worst we’ve experienced is some fairly loud adolescents in the morning who traveled with their loving family—mostly well behaved though.) Water pressure better than many American hotels but less than what we are used to at home. Shower is a bit cold during peak morning hours. Raccoons—keep your guard up and follow the posted signage.

This island, and specifically this resort, is a MUST! The service, the food, the drinks, and the overall atmosphere were magical. The ocean is clear blue, the sand is white, the little town is charming. Thank you to Valentina, Franco, Natalia, Angel, and Gabriela for an amazing time. My girlfriends and I can’t wait to return!
