Sunset Lodge & Safaris

We give this lodge 5 stars. We have stayed in this wonderful lodge in November 2024 and this was thé highlight of our South Africa Trip. The location is great,the rooms are very nice and have the most amazing view at garden where The giraffes, zebras, wildebeasts, warthogs, Ostrich can walk around and come really close. The owners have much knowledge of the animals, birds, plants and trees. We had dinner in the garden with a fire enjoying healthy food and lovely wine chatting with the hosts.

I cannot express enough my thanks and admiration for the time we spent at Sunset Lodge & Safaris. We had a fabulous time. Our hosts, Vincent and Toni were amazing: From the welcome we received the moment we arrived (Toni) to the continuous consideration for our wellbeing. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and fabulous breakfasts, including delicious homemade marmalade. You and your staff's attention to detail was amazing. I also really enjoyed the interaction and chatting with you both (especially Vincent's sense of humor) and watching our evening meal being cooked over the open grill fire while we enjoyed a (delicious wine) sundowner drink. An unexpected bonus was the knowledge and experience you both shared not only about the animals, but also the flora and fauna. We learned so much. For me, a real dream come true, especially the thrilling experience of observing so many animals (ostrich, zebra, giraffes, mongooses, tortoises and many more), that passed by so close up to our "lodge" veranda. it was breathtaking. I took over 900 photos. I would love to return to spend more time with you.

Very sweet owners and staff, in combination with a beautiful lodge & an amazing location makes this place definitly 5-star worthy! You should go there and stay a couple of days to enjoy the nature, the food and be surrounded by wild animals. It’s a unique experience.

From start to finish, this holiday was perfect; before we arrived we questioned Vince and Toni’s vast local knowledge and experience to help plan the best options for our family, with 12 and 13 year old boys, getting the balance of trips and excursions was key for our experience. We stayed for 10 nights at the lodge and loved every second, sitting with Toni and Vince each morning and night for food, relaxed and listening to the depth of information that they had about the area, flora and fauna as well as talking to other guests and hearing stories of what we had all seen and done was a great touch, it felt very personal as they cared about ours and the other guests enjoyment. This lodge has a homely feel too it, the team of staff work well together and they always greet you with a smile, the food is homemade, plentiful and tasty, the bedrooms and general areas are clean and comfortable. Thanks to Vince, Toni and the team for making one boy’s (now adult’s) dream come true; when we left home, he, his wife and two sons had an amazing holiday planned, but you made it even better when we got there, a holiday that enriched us all; we could have stayed anywhere and seen the animals, but we were fortunate to stay with you and experience your hospitality…we will be coming back.

You must experience the hospitality of Vincent and Toni! From the wonderful rooms to the delicious food prepared by Beauty and Future over the open coals whilst we watched mongoose play around the waterhole. This was a treat, close to Kruger and perfect for our group of 10. We wanted to stay longer!

It's our second visit to South Africa and once again we’ve booked a stay at this amazing lodge. This time Vince and Toni provided us with the opportunity to experience one of the newly built rooms. We absolute loved the rustic stunning architecture, and the cozy furnishings that blended well to the bush surroundings. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, featuring large windows in the bathroom that offered breathtaking views of the bush. There is also a terrace complete with a braai where you can relax with coffee or snacks, all while enjoying perfect views for wildlife spotting. What we loved most was the outdoor shower. Can’t describe that feeling! With delicious food, gracious hosts and the presence of animals is definitely on our list for the next visit. Axel and Krishna
