Toro Yaka Bush Lodge

Toro Yaka is one of our favourite places in the world. Returning for a second visit we hoped the team could live up to our first experience, and once again they were on top of their ‘game’. Nicole, Daisy and the house staff are all so calming, you instantly relax as you arrive, and their quiet attention to detail throughout is beautiful to experience. The food? Top drawer: colourful, varied, healthy, and always more than enough! Stephan was so knowledgeable and adapted his style to different situations, making the quieter game drives fascinating. Ras was full of fun with a ready smile, and his language skills put other guests from Belgium right at home. As a little tip, see if the Elephant Room is available; being able to sit back in bed with the curtains drawn, staring out at the watering hole as a herd of elephants take a shower on a hot day is magical. Can’t recommend Toro Yaka enough…and we have to many of our friends, who have all also loved it and more will visit next year! Thank you folks, you’re amazing, and it is always a privilege to experience a snapshot of your lives in the wild.

Wow. What a wonderful place to stay. It’s like being a guest in someone’s home. Thank you Nicole and team for a marvellous week. The little touches make a huge difference. E.g. Joining your guests for dinner, printed stories. The guides are knowledgeable and work with other local guides to ensure you get to see the wildlife as close as they can get you (and it can be close) without too many vehicles crowding the animals. Amazing. Wonderful food that catered extremely well for everyone’s dietary needs. Thank you.

Great food and great safaris with top notch guides ! The team at Toro Yaka made everyone feel right at home. The team was super accommodating and the rooms are nicely appointed. I can’t think of anything new I could add to all the wonderful existing comments except to say that they’re all true. It was my 4th time visiting Toro Yaka, and a solo trip this time around, but I never felt alone. Thank you to everyone for taking such good care of me and for making me laugh so much, my favourite thing :) Honestly sometimes the animals (and there were many) were just a bonus.

L’endroit est magnifique au cœur d’une réserve. C’est Amour (le prénom de la charmante jeune femme) qui nous accueille avec Stephan (guide safari) et Chatt (le pisteur). L’acceuil est chaleureux. Notre chambre est magnifique (la plus proche de la piscine avec une superbe vue sur le bush). C’est une multitudes de petites attentions comme les biscuits maison à notre disposition ; je vous laisse découvrir le reste. Ce lodge à la possibilité de recevoir 8 personnes ce qui en fait un endroit très cosy. Les parties communes sont très confortables. La cuisine est excellente et chargée de générosité. Il y a une salle de sport pour dépenser quelques unes des calories !Stephan, le guide safari est amoureux de son métier et nous fait découvrir les animaux avec beaucoup de respect pour eux. Il est curieux de tout et partage ses connaissances et sa passion. Chatt le pisteur a un œil de lynx. La bonne entente de l’ensemble de l’équipe et de personnel est perceptible ce qui contribue à notre plaisir. Un excellent souvenir gravé pour longtemps. Une expérience incroyable.

We spent 4 nights at our favorite spot, Toroyaka Bush Lodge, for our wedding day. Every time it is unique and special how the entire staff makes our stay wonderful in all areas. every morning a knock on the door to wake you up for a game drive. coffee/tea, fruit and rusks are ready before the game drive starts. Every game drive we wait and see what we see and the guide and tracker do their utmost best to find them. halfway through the drive is a coffee/tea/hot chocolate break with homemade tasty cookies. In the meantime, the staff has made the garden beautiful, cleaned the rooms, set the table for breakfast and preparations for breakfast are in full swing in the kitchen. upon return, have an extensive breakfast and then enjoy the peace and quiet in the beautifully landscaped garden and swimming pool. At 2 PM it is lunch time, which produces surprising and very tasty dishes. at 4 PM a new adventure with the game drive. When we return we are welcomed again by Nicole, Shinga and Joey, always nice. Dinner follows every evening in a different place, which makes it so unique. After dinner you would like to go to bed where a surprise awaits you in bed. and then another beautiful day in an exceptionally beautiful lodge comes to an end. Iedere keer is het uniek en bijzonder hoe het voltallige personeel ons verblijf op alle vlakken geweldig maakt. elke ochtend wordt er op de deur geklopt om u wakker te maken voor een gamedrive. koffie/thee, fruit en beschuit staan ​​klaar voordat de gamedrive begint. Elke gamedrive wachten we af wat we zien en wat doen de gids en tracker hun uiterste best om ze te vinden. halverwege de rit een koffie/thee/warme chocolademelk pauze met zelfgemaakte lekkere koekjes. Inmiddels heeft het personeel de tuin mooi gemaakt, de kamers schoongemaakt, de tafel gedekt voor het ontbijt en in de keuken zijn de voorbereidingen voor het ontbijt in volle gang. bij terugkomst uitgebreid ontbijten en daarna genieten van de rust in de prachtig aangelegde tuin en het zwembad. Om 14.00 uur is het lunchtijd, wat verrassende en zeer smakelijke gerechten oplevert. om 16.00 uur een nieuw avontuur met de gamedrive. Als we terugkomen worden we weer ontvangen door Nicole, Shinga en Joey, altijd leuk. Het diner volgt elke avond op een andere plek, wat het zo uniek maakt. Na het eten wil je graag naar bed waar er op bed een verrassing op je wacht. en dan komt er weer een mooie dag in een uitzonderlijk mooie lodge ten einde.
