A Wonderfull place with very friendly and helpful staff. Food was also very good and chef had no problems cooking excellent food with dietary requirements (gluten free). Went to three safaris with grate guides.

Rukiya is a small scale Safari Camp in the Wild Rivers Nature Reserve close to Kruger NP. The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpfull, really trying to find an answer to all your questions and needs. I have a serious eating disorder what makes travelling complicated in full board schemes, but staff and kitchen did a tremendous job to provide adequate dishes for me. Because there was a small problem with the tent we were meant to stay, we got a free upgrade to the river house, a very comfortable and welcoming surprise. White Rivers itself isn't a big 5 reserve and therefore the sightings in this reserve can feel less rewarding. Morning game drives are done in the Balule Reserve, which is a beautiful Big 5 reserve. We saw rhino, elephant and buffalo, besides herds of antelope, zebra, hippo and so on, plus countless amazing birds.

We had my daughters wedding at the lodge. We travelled from Australia for this event and the staff were absolutely AMAZING with organising the day and during our whole stay. Will definitely be back

Beautiful lodge, tranquil and full board for most guests so everything was included minus drinks. Enjoyed the experience staying in greater kruger vs paying 10x to stay in the national park but didn't see as many of the big 5 - this is nature though. My only comments hence the no 5 stars were the lack of food options at dinner - only 2 choices per night and the breakfast was very small - in the bush but not very filling as only a couple things. A few small tweaks on the service as well as certain things weren't relayed to us such as having to buy a whole bottle of wine if you just wanted a glass and then issues at checkout saying we hadn't paid despite paying upfront via ******* well over 6 months before arriving. A quick phone call to the owner fixed this but would be cool if they handled that internally first rather than in front of guests.

We are a family of 4, our kids are 19 and 21. We spent 5 nights at Rukiya. Our stay here was the highlight of the entire South Africa trip. The gamedrives are amazing! It’s a complete package of tracking animals, spotting animals and beautiful surroundings. Breakfast during the morning drive, as well as the sunset drinks are divine!! The camp is located at a river where we spotted a hippo and a crocodile. Impala’s also come by. The tents are comfortable, the food is good, the pool is a little chilly but very nice. What we appreciated most about Rukiya is the friendliness of the staff. They made us feel welcome. Also, their love for the animals/nature and their job definitely comes across!!

We did morning (big 5) and afternoon (non big 5) game drives during our stay, but the afternoon drives were definitely the highlight! We saw a lot of animals and were able to learn a lot about the environment and animals. All the guides were extremely passionate and knowledgeable. They enjoyed their work and loved sharing it with the guests. Great thanks to DJ, Conwright and Riaan for the lovely drives. Also the personnel back at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Food was very good! Even when we ordered a breakfast to go it was great. Compared to other lodges of the same type, the price was good and well worth it. Animals can however be very loud during the night, so bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Would recommend.
