4 Star??? Felt like an old time-share unit. The adjoining door to room next door was NOT LOCKED. Toilet paper holder broken. $400+ a night

My wife and I had a great 3 night stay. Room was cozy with beautiful grounds and views. Easy 10min drive into Highlands. Nice to be a little 'outside' of town. It is a 'lodge' that has been recently redone so you will not find The Ritz but still plenty nice enough. Very convenient to eat at the tasty steak house on the grounds. We did NOT experience any problems with noise between rooms or insects that others have mentioned on reviews.

Quaint spot about 10 minutes out of town with a lot of potential. However, our room in particular was a little rough (111). After looking at reviews of the lodge, I know to ask for an updated room and the front desk clerk assured us we were on the updated side of the building on arrival. I do not know how to describe the smell of the room exactly, but it was musty/strong/bad. I did not immediately ask for a room change because of figured maybe this was common across the rooms in an older hotel… There was an air purifier in there that my husband turned up and personally washed the filter. There was also a dehumidifier running, as well as AC. We opened the windows while we could, pumped up the air purifier, and thought maybe we got ahead by the following morning. I mentioned this to the front desk clerk who seemed surprised we noted a smell. But when we got back to the room after a morning of adventures out and about, the stench was back. We packed up and left that night (foregoing the 2nd night stay) as I felt I would sleep better at home. I was even more disappointed when after doing some online searching that this exact room had a similar poor review that management responded to in April. Clearly no changes had been made. For 300$ plus a night for a room, we shouldn’t have to spend the stay trying to air it out. I have no idea if the other rooms had similar issues.

My husband and I visited Skyline Lodge for a date weekend. It was amazing! It was beautiful and quiet and we really enjoyed the little extra touches. We pre-ordered a bottle of wine and charcuterie for our room for our arrival and it was really nice. The Oak steakhouse was incredible! The gourmet food, craft cocktails and the staff were over the top! We explored some hiking trails and waterfalls in the area and will definitely be back!

I would never return to The Skyline Lodge and would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The front desk gentleman that was working there on 8/4 at approximately 4pm was rude, disrespectful, arrogant and unprofessional. I have never experienced such horrible customer service at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I have never written a TripAdvisor review but am taking the time to write this one because I want this hotel to know how this employee is treating their guests. Upon arrival, I noticed there was no refrigerator in my hotel room. I had called a day prior requesting a refrigerator and was told by the reservation department that yes there is a refrigerator in the room. When there was no refrigerator in my room I went to the front desk and explained the situation to the gentleman that I was told I would have a refrigerator. Immediately he had an attitude and said well, we don’t have a refrigerator and they are given out the day you get here by calling the front desk. I explained to him that I tried to call the reception desk and when I did, I got no answer on multiple phone call attempts. He said well the phone never rang at the front desk, basically calling me a liar. So I showed him the proof on my phone the amount of times that I called there and nobody picked up. And he said that I probably didn’t have cell reception and that’s why the call didn’t go through. If I didn’t have cell service then I wouldn’t have been able to get through and choose the reception desk as an option. He said well we’ve been here the whole time and I said well if you were here then I guess you didn’t answer the phone because I called and there was no answer on multiple occasions and that’s why I called reservations and they assured me I would have a refrigerator. He told me that reservations has nothing to do with booking a refrigerator that they’re not located at the hotel, they are in Oregon or some other state. Like I was supposed to know this. Perhaps you need to tell your reservation department that every room does not have a refrigerator and that you need to call the hotel directly to get a refrigerator. I understand that this gentleman wouldn’t have been able to make a refrigerator magically appear when there were none to be had. Of course I was disappointed about not having a refrigerator because I had deli meat, cheese and mayo to make sandwiches for hiking trips that I had to throw in the garbage because I didn’t have a refrigerator. That part was over and done with there was nothing I could do about that but the bad impression that I have of this hotel due to that gentleman’s attitude and customer service is horrible! My husband overheard my conversation with this gentleman and he was appalled at his demeanor and attitude as well and said we’re not staying here. Unfortunately I am having to repost my review since I am unable to edit my original review or reply to the hotel who lied in their response to me. Photos attached of my original review, hotel response and the air purifier they had in our room to try to disguise the stench. As previously mentioned, our room was damp, musty and smelled moldy. There was a plug in air purifier in our room so they clearly knew it issues. It was very uncomfortable and although we did ask for a new room twice during our stay, those requests were denied. The hotel said they did not have any rooms available to move us to and they did not offer any additional room options or even a verbal apology for the situation. The worst part about our stay was how obvious it was that no one cared about our experience at all. Marcos replied to my original review claiming the hotel not only offered us other room options but also had the "F&B team arrange many special treats during your dining experience" - this is also untrue and we never dined at the restaurant. We had to cancel our reservation because their outside seating was closed due to rain and we had our dog with us. Just to be clear - no one from the hotel reached out during our stay at all, nothing was offered, nothing was sent and nothing was said from anyone. As you can imagine this has been a very frustrating situation because if the hotel had actually done any of the things they claimed they did or were empathetic at all, then we would have had a much better trip.
