We've just returned from a fantastic holiday in Crete. We stayed at Ida village. We had a maisonette which was spacious and had everything you need for self-catering. The rooms also have a safety deposit box which can be rented at a daily cost. The rooms also have air-conditioning, I'm a tight Yorkshireman and tried to cope without but had to see the wonderful staff in reception and succumb to paying as it was so hot. Air-conditioning highly recommend. The rooms are clean and linen changed every couple of days. We had a room with pool and sea view. Ida village is in a great quiet location too, not far to walk to the main street with its many shops and restaurants although it is up a hill. The beach was also a short walk away, we went through the star beach hotel to the small beach which had most watersports you could imagine. Every member of staff at Ida village always had a smile and would do their utmost to help with anything. If you want to explore Crete there are umpteen car hire places which hire cars, quads, beach type buggies and scooters. The only downside I'd say about Ida village was its not very wheelchair friendly, there are a lot of steps so it depends on the severity of a disability as to whether you'd cope. Myself and partner had a fantastic stay, so much so I booked to return in 2025 the day we arrived back home.
