Hotel a Haymarket

"We stayed there a total of 3 nights and we had to move rooms 3 times from level 11 to level 4 then back up to level 9 the first 2 rooms overnight flooded because it was raining heavy at times but mostly just showers but the carpet was soaked throughout both rooms, When I told reception they sent me to the room with towels to soak it up and assumed it would be ok I guess, But then the hotel manager knocked on our door asked to look at the water damage I didn't know why at that time but he had made the same discovery In a number of rooms in the hotel. So he organised to have his maintinence man come and suck the water out with a wet vacuum we went out so they could do that we were gone for a couple hours and when we got back they had just finished and had industrial blowers drying it out more.I wasn't going to stay in that room and asked the manager to move us but he was reluctant but he did.No offer to help us move our stuff for the inconvenience but history repeated itself in the next room. So the final night we were downgraded alot the room was half the size of the one we originally booked the condition of the room was like it was quickly cleaned and made available for us in the last hour it was disgusting and very poor effort from the Manager and the staff. The TVs in 2 of the 3 rooms wouldn't connect to the hotels promised super speed wifi on the website which wasn't very fast at all. The phones fitted in the rooms don't work they're not even connected. The safes in the rooms! one I had to put 6 X AA batteries in for it to turn on! only to say error over and over again and the other 2 don't work. The Photos below are the standard of cleaning in this hotel and unfinished workmanship. Very Dissatisfied Hotel Stay."

"We stayed at Sydney Central Hotel, managed by The Ascott Limited, during our holiday in the last week of September. The hotel was mainly intended for us as a place to have breakfast, sleep, and relax after a day out exploring the city. In my view, a good hotel is one where I never have to call housekeeping or the front desk to get basic things done. Unfortunately, this was not the case here, nor in my previous stay at Somerset Grand Hanoi, also managed by Ascott, where I faced similarly unpleasant experiences. In Hanoi, the water heater malfunctioned in very cold weather. After a long day outside, my young kids were forced to bathe in cold water, and we had to endure late-night repair work in the room instead of resting. It completely ruined that part of our trip. At Sydney Central Hotel, issues continued. Although we requested early check-in, and were given a room around 2:30 pm, we immediately discovered clothes left behind by the previous occupants in the cabinet. The reception staff was polite and gave us another room, but it was more dated than the first. Later that night, we found that the bathtub drain stopper was missing, making the tub unusable. Despite multiple calls and reminders over four days, the issue was never resolved. Housekeeping was also inconsistent — we were four guests, yet towels provided were often just two or three. On one occasion, we were told an additional towel could only be arranged the next day, which was unacceptable. To add to the frustration, the manager even made a remark about the booking site used, leaving the impression that guests who don’t book directly are not valued. The only positive aspect was that when we had to leave early before breakfast, the staff arranged takeaway breakfast packs for us. Overall, the lack of service quality and basic attention to guest comfort made this stay disappointing. A holiday should not be overshadowed by repeated calls and requests for essentials that should be standard. Based on these experiences, I will be avoiding such properties in the future."

"Location is pretty good here. Located in Thai town and near train and tram. Room is a bit small and old. No free drinking water. Room cant keep sound that much. Total all is ok good choice if you looking for a good location hotel"

"La posizione è eccellente, con una stazione della metropolitana leggera proprio di fronte all'hotel. Anche la stazione centrale è raggiungibile in dieci minuti, offrendo un comodo accesso a treni, metropolitana e autobus. Situato a Chinatown, offre numerosi ristoranti sia all'ingresso principale che a quello posteriore. L'hotel è pulito, anche se l'arredamento non è nuovo. Nel complesso, offre un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo."

"Excellent location - extremely convenient. Quick and easy to get everywhere thanks to proximity to the light rail, along with being walking distance from darling harbour. Unfortunately the hotel messed up our booking and there was no family room available upon our arrival but we were upgraded to a suite which was great. A shame we had to wait until 3pm to check in which is rather late in comparison to most hotels. The room itself was clean and tidy though I would say not really ‘4 star’. Overall it was a solid stay for our family of three but I would suggest the hotel is being a little cheeky with their ‘suggestion’ that room cleaning only happens every 4 days- I want my rubbish cleaned out every day thankyou!"

"L'hotel è in una posizione molto grande e il personale è stato molto amichevole e utile, ma durante il nostro soggiorno c'erano lavori di costruzione in corso che lo rendevano estremamente alto, ci sforzavamo di ottenere abbastanza sonno. Siamo stati anche un po' delusi che l'hotel non ci abbia informato della costruzione quando abbiamo effettuato la prenotazione. Inoltre, abbiamo dovuto usare le scale, ma grazie a tutti i membri del personale in attesa di assistere con il nostro bagaglio, che abbiamo apprezzato davvero."
