I traveled solo, so I chose the hostel for staying in Sydney for 4 days. The location is great!!! 20 mins away by a train from the airport, a lot of train stops and bus stops around. Breakfast is not great, yogurt, cereal, croissants, muffins, toasts, some can fruits, tea, coffee (12$). In this hostel something happened that never happened to me before. I left some of my clothes on the bed, keep housing changed my bedsheets and took my clothes away. Even though I still had 2 nights left. The best decision (that’s what they said) is they gave my a voucher for breakfast lmao!!!! I kept coming and asking if they found my clothes but they didn’t and the last day when I already was leaving they said okay, we can call the police if I want to solve this problem. That’s ridiculous! For 2 days they didn’t do anything, every time when I came to the front desk there were different workers and it was quite hard to find a manager! So if you decide to stay here, keep all your stuff in the locker. The padlock is 6$. There are washing machines and dryers, I didn’t use but as far as I remember around 8$. The cockroach was on the kitchen level, huge as my thumb.

Learned about YHA from a travel blog. I booked a queen room with an ensuite for myself (traveled solo), so it felt more like a usual hotel stay rather than the more social/fun rooming with other people. THe price was reasonable. The best part about this hostel is its location--literally in the Center of everything. There's a tram and the train station right outside of the hostel. The next thing that was great about it was the hospitality of the staff. I didn't do much at the hostel or places right outside the building (I bet there was so much to do), so there's not much to add; the pool area at the rooftop was under renovation, so that bummed me a little. Overall, it was a great place to stay for two nights. Would return. Would recommend.

Overall was great experienced . But the amenities abit round down and the room is stuffy during summer . No fans available and window can’t open. Towel have to request upon asking , the reception won’t give it to you if you not asking. Hair dryer in the male toilet was broken. Location was great just right infront of the Haymarket tram.

Good location just next to central station and in front of the Hymarket tram station, easy to go many main destinations. I don’t know why the charging point is inside the locker ? Isn’t it too inconvenient for charging phone and laptops?

It was a pleasure staying in this hostel. The receptionists are way too nice, especially the Filipino guy and I had a good stay in this place. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was fine. The place is also convenient for it’s just across Sydney Central. Will definitely go back.

More of on old peoples hostel wouldn’t recommend for younger travellers. Location very good for public transport. Plugs in rooms are in bad location and beds could do with curtains.

It was great, really close to central city. And has great transportation accessibility

I just met a strange woman during the stay, which made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable all the time, she kept disturbing and harassing me and another roommate. Other then that, everything was good and the location is goods, walking distance to all the popular attractions!

If you are on a budget trip and looking for the most affordable room in the heart of the city? Then Sydney Central YHA is for you. I really have a good over all stay here. The ambiance, the staff, the location is just perfect. There is an underground bar but I wasn’t able to visit but I can sense that it is quite fun.

Live in 5 people room at level 2 Good: Good location Clean Room and restroom Bad: Traffic all night (stay in level 2) Some staff not well trained Key card often not working A small story: Wakes up by staff at night as there is 6 people arranged in a 5 people room. Found out a guy wrongly arranged to this room in the earlier time.
