Fantastic location in the village, close to restaurants, pubs and walks. Spotlessly clean, house, rooms with great quality bedding. Fabulous Breakfast. Very welcoming place to stay. Hawkeshead village has quirky shops and great start point for Latterbarrow and Grizwdal walks.

Our first visit to Hawkshead and stayed at this lovely cottage from Friday to Sunday. The owners were more than helpful with local information and friendly. I would highly recommend this place as a base for walkers. The full English breakfast sets you up for the day.

Kate and Paul are great hosts. Very friendly and welcoming. The house was stunning, immaculately clean and our bed was very comfortable. Kate and Paul served a great and plentiful breakfast. We also had afternoon tea on our arrival day. Again it was delicious and plentiful and the soup was an added very welcome touch on a very cold day. There was a roaring fire in the breakfast room which we were welcome to use in the afternoon/evening. Kate gave us lots of ideas and information on places to visit. Hawkshead is a great location for exploring the Lake District. I would definitely recommend a stay here and we are sure to return. Thanks Kate and Paul for a great few days x

The five of us spent two nights at Ivy Guest House, and received a warm welcome from Kate and Paul to their very elegant house. The sweeping staircase and arched window would not look out of place in a National Trust property! Lovely big and well appointed rooms and very comfy beds, also very clean. Full Cumbrian breakfast was delicious, but you could pretty much order what you wanted. A memorable stay and would highly recommend. Perfectly situated in the heart of the village, and a perfect base for Lakes lovers!

Excellent place to stay, clean and very festive. Kate and Paul, and family were so friendly and nice. Very welcoming. The room was lovely and spacious and everythjng we needed. Breakfast was wonderful, and there was plenty. Really enjoyed and will return again.

What a lovely place to stay in Hawkshead. We received such a warm welcome from Kate and Paul. Rooms were spacious and spotless, recently renovated to a really high standard. A beautiful entrance hall in a stunning period property. A very short walk to two lovely pubs. This is a relatively new venture for Kate and Paul and they deserve every success.

I find it completely quintessentially British staying in a nice guest house in the Lakes. I also find it entirely relaxing and humbling. This B&B is lovely, recently renovated to high standards, 15 metres from a good pub and in the beautiful village of Hawkshead. I couldn’t recommend more. The Ivy Guest House, Hawkshead. 👌🏻 Promised I’d give them a shout out as I enjoyed it so much. Well done Kate & Paul for running a lovely operation.

Our stay at the Ivy was a lovely experience. Our room was very clean and cosy. The sitting room downstairs with the log burner blazing away was so welcoming and relaxed, it felt very peaceful in there. Darren was attentive, we felt very looked after. Breakfast was beautiful and the young man who waited on us was warm, friendly and easy to talk to. We wished we were staying longer and we will definitely return. Amazing place and lovely people ❤️
