Hôtel & Restaurant Five Nations

Yesterday's weather was miserable but the site was impressive anyway, esp. for golf players (which we are not). Beautiful nature all around, manicured gardens, elegantly repurposed old farm buildings, inviting bar and restaurant, impressive seminar facilities, simple but cozy and functional rooms, comfortable beds, impeccable cleanliness. A bit on the expensive side for the rooms but keeping up everything around them is surely not cheap. Only observations: 1. The place was difficult to find. Of course Google maps, Booking, etc. know about it and the address is advertised everywhere. However that address was unknown even to our (upper-class) car's GPS, when I programmed it by pointing at the place on its map, it steered us first through the service entrance, and the local signage is really too small and not visible enough, esp. in the mist of a dreary afternoon, and confusing as the most visible is a discouraging dead-end road sign. 2. While the room was clean and perfectly 'usable', it suffered from a couple of oversights that room staff should have reported and fixed: one of the ceiling light bulbs did not work; the desk lamp did not work ... until we noticed it had been unplugged behind the desk; more importantly, no matter how hard we tried, one could not shower without water seeping under the door and running over the bathroom floor. Bad design or merely an ill-fitted door?... whatever, not good over the long run.

Very nice boutique-like hotel, incl. golfshop. Fantastic renovated. Our room was very clean, great shower and had luckily a good working airco (it was 30 degr. outside) 3-course diner and breakfast on the outside terras was fantastic. And both golfcourses (Durbuy and Main) are very nice to play: challenging but fair, with nice views. We could not find even one small negative point. We've had a lovely 3 days and will happily stay another time.

We really enjoyed our stay at the golfhotel. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Good beds and very quite during the night. Staff is very friendly and the service is good. Also the diner and breakfast was of a good standard! De 18-holes golfcourse is well maintained and a challange for all golfers. A great place were we surely will come back.

Our last visit was some years ago, still with the temporary containers during the renovation of the building and the old set up. Today it is a fantastic scenery, overlooking the valley, the fairways cut in checkers pattern, greens in perfect conditions, together with the sun a superb experience. Rooms are comfortable, with a golf touch, from the green carpet, to bathroom accessories to the lay out of hole 12 displayed on the wall. Conclusion, a complete package, well managed, driven, a place to come back !

Comfortabele en mooi gedecoreerde kamers in top locatie. Bij ontvangst spreekt men je aan in uw taal. De prijs/kwaliteit is meer dan interessant. Als je er bent zoals wij voor golf ben je hier op de juiste plaats; Wat enigszins verwonderend is dat men maar om de twee dagen de kamers opmaakt en de handdoeken vervangt tenzij je geen probleem hebt een extra € 25 te betalen. Communicatie hieromtrend kan beter maar voor ons was dit geen onoverkomelijk probleem. De prijzen van de bar en de brasserie zijn zeer schappelijk met een beperkt menu zoals je kunt verwachten van een doorsnee bistro. Voor ons moet het niet meer zijn. Wij komen terug.

Zeer aangename locatie midden in de golf. Vriendelijke bediening en flexibel. Kamers zijn modern en proper. Snachts heel rustig en geen last van lawaai zoals airco of andere toestellen. Lekker en uitgebreid ontbijt. Ruime parking met paadpalen.
