Budget-Friendly Stay, but Comes with Compromises
I recently stayed at S.C. Heritage Hotel, Hatyai, and while it’s an older hotel, it still offers decent value for those on a tight budget.
What I Liked:
• Ample parking, making it convenient for those driving.
• No deposit required for check-in, which is a rare convenience.
• The balcony was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, a nice touch for a budget hotel.
What Needs Improvement:
Unfortunately, the drawbacks were hard to ignore. The reception staff could use some customer service training, as their attitude felt unwelcoming and unfriendly. The beds were quite hard, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably.
Room quality varied significantly—some were acceptable, while others felt unsettling due to broken amenities like a noisy air conditioner, a TV that didn’t work, faulty light switches, and a bathroom in poor condition. The shower water pressure was frustratingly low, making it inconvenient for a refreshing bath.
Overall:
Despite its flaws, I’d consider staying here again if I’m on a tight budget, given the extremely low price of just RM50 per night. The Wi-Fi works fine, though it can be unreliable at times. If you’re looking for basic accommodation with no frills and can overlook some maintenance issues, this hotel could work for you.
