My friends and I visited the White Rock Hotel for lunch. The menu looked very good. There was a choice off four different, very inviting looking, on paper, of ploughman’s lunches. We choose the Sussex: Cheddar and ham option served with salad, chutney and bread. Just as one would expect. When they arrived the bread was pre SLICED - one white one poor quality granary. Never, have I ever, had a ploughman’s served with sliced bread! Call me old fashioned? But was expecting some big chunk of crispy bread, or rustic loaf or a baguette? When I questioned the server, he walked away and said nothing! Very disappointed!
