My name on an Elizabeth and I used to work for this property. There are mold issues because there is a known roof leak, and the owners just paint over it. If you are staying in Suite 2 we regularly had water drip into people’s bed while they were sleeping. You will notice that most of the positive reviews recently are for my service. The owner was stealing tips and when I brought up that it was an issue the manager began to no show no call on me, and I was told I was the problem for being upset by this treatment. They treat employees horribly, don’t support if you care about employees.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are clean and have updated private baths. Beds are comfortable. The inn has great breakfasts, served at 9am. Elizabeth, the innkeeper, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about local history and attractions. She offered good info about local hikes. There are several places very close by for food/drinks. Walking in to Harpers Ferry is about .8 miles from the inn. We will definitely be back!

I can highly recommend this bed and breakfast in all ways possible. The rooms (we stayed in #3, an expansive set of rooms in the upstairs) are spacious, well appointed, clean, quite tastefully decorated. The parking lot in the back is a godsend in this small town that seems to charge for parking even when you are nearly a mile from the tourist attractions of the old city. It's a fair walk to town (down hill all the way in, a bit of a climb if you are in shape to get back) but not too bad. Nice breakfast, great value.

The breakfast was fantastic!!! Dining room was wonderfully laid out with spacious seating for each suite. The egg, cheese, and tater tot casserole was the perfect portion coupled with the sausage links and English muffin. Fresh fruit cup, OJ, and coffee rounded out this dining experience. The chef/innkeeper, Elizabeth, regaled us with some history of the property, the area, and Civil War as it impacted the region and the property. It truly added to the charm of this inn. The room was large (the reason why was explained in the breakfast story!), the bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was great. The remaining room appointments were matched to the period of the inn. I loved this inn and my suite!

We were looking to explore Harpers Ferry for the first time. We like historic places and the Inn was perfect. We were able to check in early and get started checking out the town. We will definitely come back as the Light Horse was cozy and a great spot.

This was the cutiest bed and breakfast we have stayed at in a long time. The room was so nice. The chef did an amazing job with breakfast both mornings. I just loved all the history and the decorations. I would stay there again!

We stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking is very conveniently located directly behind the building. (Note that there are stairs involved, approx. a flight.) The proprietors texted a code to access the back door, and our room key was in our room's door. Our room (Suite 2) was a good size with a king bed and very large bathroom. There is plenty of common space downstairs with sofas, chairs, etc. Breakfast is served at 9:00 am in the dining room. The chef, Megan, is warm and friendly. Breakfast each day was delicious, a full plate including eggs, meat, fruit, etc. Coffee, tea, and snacks are available all day. The property is well situated to visit Harpers Ferry, and one day we toured Antietam.

Our room was spacious(Suite 2) and clean except for the inside of the medicine cabinet and the blinds in 1 of the bedroom windows, it was broken, dirty and didn't even match the other one in the bedroom, odd. Also, the area rug outside our room needed to be vacuumed and there were crumbs on the landing when we got there and still there when we left...3 days later. While we had a nice time, there were a few things that we weren't happy with and are an easy fix. The water dispensers should be rinsed out and the water replaced at least once a day and it would have been nice if they were cold. Marked parking for guests would have been nice. There was an event at the Barn behind the Inn and its a shared parking lot. When we arrived back after dinner, there were no parking spots, we waited until someone from the party left and then parked up the small hill. One of the other guests was told to park at the post office(about a block away) if there was no parking! All in all we had a nice time at this in.

We stayed here for a weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Lots of charm, well kept, and a great breakfast. Antique furniture (but modern comfortable long bed) makes you feel you're in colonial America. The innkeeper are wonderful and helpful.
