many thanks to lesley and Alison, the loving owners of lairds, we loved every minute, fabulous rooms, grounds, pools, restaurant, food, service, advice on tours etc. we have just moved on to rosenhof in oudtshoorn, 5 star, and no comparison, awful, service etc. wish we had stayed for longer at lairds. we will return next year. thank you again x

This was a beautiful hotel everything about it was very tasteful and very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and professional we were looked after by Eric and Barnard . We only had two nights, and I wish we had booked for three. You do need a car, but it is perfect for a base to check out the local area. I have to mention the wonderful gardens perfect for sitting in and relaxing.

We arrived at Lairds Lodge after being on safari and it was ideal for chilling. This is a beautiful house with wonderful gardens. The swimming pool is in a lovely part of the estate and has plenty of chairs. The staff were all friendly and cheerful and go out of their way to give you excellent service. The breakfasts were amazing with a large self service buffet and then a big choice if you wish to have a full cooked breakfast. We had dinner in the hotel one evening and that too was lovely. Our room was spacious with tea and coffee facilities and complimentary cake. It is ideally situated if you want to visit Plettenburg Bay and we also visited the Robberg Nature reserve and Birds of Eden. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this charming hotel.

Lairds Lodge is a perfect place to stay along the Garden Route. The location is perfect and the rooms were top standard. The staff could not do enough and weee very helpful in arranging where to go and what to see. I would definitely recommend Lairds Lodge to anyone travelling along the Garden Route.

This was a stop over between a trip from Oudtshoorn to Shamwarwi and lovely couple of nights. The Hotel is set in beautiful natural grounds which are very well kept. The staff just amazing, ensuring everything is as we needed and polite all the way through. Breakfast amazing, rooms very comfortable, private garden areas tranquil.... definately return if we were passing through again.

My husband and I have just spent a three night Christmas break at this wonderful hotel. What a hidden gem! All of the staff go above and beyond to look after their guests. The food was amazing, we loved everything we ate. We booked a Luxury suite and it was fabulous, comfortable bed, a huge room and so quiet. The shower pressure was fantastic. What a find, we will be returning next Christmas for sure. Thank you Lairds Lodge! Fiona & Bob x

We came across Lairds Lodge by a chance search on the internet, and we are so happy that we did! We stayed for 4 nights so we could base ourselves in this lovely place in order to explore the local area. From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. The Lodge is beautifully presented, and peaceful, and our room was really clean and comfortable. But the real highlight was the restaurant. The food was excellent! Our host, Lesley came and chatted with us at breakfast every morning, and her recommendations for places to visit were spot on! I would definitely recommend a stay at Lairds Lodge if you want the perfect mix of luxury and tranquility while you explore a beautiful part of South Africa.

Beautiful place. So comfortable and relaxing, with lovely staff, gorgeous rooms and delicious food. Loved all the common spaces, especially The Monkey Bar. The perfect place for our group to be able to relax and unwind at the end of our trip.

A beautiful home from home. Stunning grounds and pool. There is no typical restaurant on-site, or room service, but they do a set menu each evening at 7pm. This is delicious, so worth it. The staff were very attentive, warm and caring. Each morning at breakfast the manager asked us our plans for the day and provided recommendations and local tips. Thanks to this we managed to catch the Saturday market and dine at a local nearby restaurant (Zinzi, highly recommend!), which we would otherwise have missed. The hotel even drove us to/from the restaurant at a very reasonable cost and the driver was so nice. The room and bathroom, though really clean, is slightly dated. The bathroom more so than the room. The tiles had just been painted over and the taps really stiff. The shower pressure was rubbish. It could really do with a refresh. There was also a lack of attention to detail with no hooks for dressing gowns, a lack of plugs, hair dryer didn’t work etc. It wouldn’t put me off going back, but just not as luxurious as we expected. Otherwise a really good stay, I’d give 4.5 stars if I could.
