It was my first time booking a hostel in China after living and travelling to many cities across the country. I’ve always been sceptical to booking into one since I’m a foreigner and I was afraid of the uncomfortable stares and the hospitality. However this hostel is the exact opposite of my fears!
I had a very pleasant stay, the landlord is so kind and welcoming. Even with the language barrier he tried his best to make sure that I’m ok and he was friendly. And always made conversation with his tenants. He has a way to make everyone feel at home.
The hostel is located on the third floor and there’s no elevator, however the guy working at the front desk gladly helped me with my very big luggage. Which Im very grateful for. The room as is a bit small about six people per room, however it’s very clean and the people were mindful of the noise. If someone was sleeping. The bathroom are clean as well the showers are spacious. There have a microwave and kettle available for all to use (which is very useful in this cold weather).
And the best part of it all is that it’s so cheap and the hostel is located right next to the famous Zhongyang street! It’s literally opposite Tattoc restaurant which is a famous Russian restaurant. The location is so convenient everything was merely a walking distance away. I got a good exercise walking to all these locations as I warmed up my body and explored Harbin.
From the hostel to the following locations is about It’s about a 10-20 minutes walk (which is very do-able because taxis can’t really go in since it’s a walking street) ;
1. St. Sophia Cathedral
2. Harbin Songhua River ice- snow Carnival (where you can find plenty of winter activities, cable cars, atv on the frozen river, snow slides etc).
3. Nearby bars on Zhongyang street
4. Coca Cola themed shop (less than 5 minutes walk)
Basically the best accommodation for a solo traveler or someone travelling on a budget.
Thank you for the great service and hospitality, I wish you well in your business.
