Hondaafushi Island Resort

We booked our stay through RCI and paid. After paying we were told to pay additional fees for meals which we paid and was expected. We were further required to a further additional charge per day of 51 dollars per person for the festive season, which were we forced to pay as they refused to book our flights in if we didn't pay this over and above the already full board charge. When we got to the island the food was horrific, the poorest quality, and hardly any decent food. We basically lived on eggs and toast for breakfast and dinners were pathetic with people angry and competing to get to the little chicken provided. You are also not allowed to bring alcohol to the island.This hotel is the biggest rip off ever, we practically starved most days as we could not eat most of the food. I would not recommend staying here. The staff are kind and courteous. But we wasted thousands of dollars as there was hardly much food or variety for anyone. Biggest loss for me and my family and friends

Really loved the island was lovely beaches lovely and white turquoise sea was amazing. Resort so clean and tidy. The fruit bats were really big. Saw sharks and manta rays and loads of fish even saw turtle. Really really enjoyed our stay the food was lovely. The fruit girl was so polite and friendly. Just a shame mine and my husbands phones went missing. Upon check out they tried to charge us for a chair I sat on and the seat dipped down at one side and a coffee table which just broke at the joints. Although in the end they didn’t charge us. The mini bar is expensive and the cigarettes from the shop are $40 for 20. Overall really enjoyed our stay

Do not book this resort if you want to have a good holidays. We booked Deluxe room for 6000 euros (villa numbers 100-115), for extra money because we knew that other rooms are really very bad. And guess what, today 03.02.2025, after arrival, we got normal room 129, and the reception did not even inform us that the room is of wrong category. Fortunately, this is not our first visit and we could recognise that. Imagine if somebody goes to this resort first time, pays extra for a good room and get bad one. Then they just stay in a bad one the whole stay. It is a FRAUD. Just one small addition, in the arrival day, there is no water in WC and in bath. Think twice before you book Hondaafushi resort!!! There are a lot of better ways to spend holidays!

L’île est magnifique et l’hôtel très bien tenu. Les bungalows sont spacieux et la salle de bain paradisiaque ! Merci à Rachid qui a fait de notre petit nid un endroit propre et accueillant ! L’île est très calme et parfaite pour un séjour paisible dans un décor de rêve. La nourriture du restaurant est simple et variée. Merci à Pooja pour nous avoir aussi bien accueilli au restaurant tous les jours avec le sourire et un sens du service impeccable ! A recommander pour les personnes en quête de sérénité et de paysages sublimes !

Wir waren von Ende Januar bis Anfang Februar 10 Tage auf Hondaafushi Island. Es war unsere zweite Maledivenreise. Die Anreise war etwas lang,aber machbar und gut organisiert. Von Malé hatten wir zwei kurze Flüge mit einer Propellermaschine und dann ging es noch 10min per Speedboot auf die Insel. Die Insel hat eine gute Größe, man kann sie in ca. 60min umrunden. Es gibt nicht viele Bungalows und daher auch nicht so viele Gäste. Die Bungalows sind nett und recht modern einrichtet. Aber ja, hier und da könnte mal was erneuert werden, aber man ist ja eh die meiste Zeit draußen! Geschlafen haben wir himmlisch, das Bett war rießig und sehr bequem. Wir hatten All Inklusive gebucht, das braucht man dort auch. Das Essen ist unser größter Kritikpunkt: Es war leider sehr eintönig und es gab nicht die große Auswahl, die wir aus anderen Resorts gewohnt sind. Es hat sich oft gedoppelt, die warmen Speisen waren eher lauwarm/kalt und der Fisch in den Fischgerichten ist 2x gestorben. Ein richtiges „Highlight“ am Buffet gab es nicht. Wer keinen Reis, Curry, Hülsenfrüchte und Fisch mag, ist echt aufgeschmissen. Und auch für Vegatarier wirds schwierig. Aber die Obstauswahl war super, reif und immer frisch! Die Cocktails an der Poolbar sind alle super und mit Alkohol wird nicht gegeizt. Nur die Weine waren nicht unser Geschmack, die waren etwas schwefelig. Der Strand und das Wasser sind wunderbar, sehr sauber und klar! Wir haben sehr viele kleine und größere Haie gesehen. Die tun aber nichts. Gelegentlich waren wir schnorcheln am Steg, das war nett, aber für uns nicht außergewöhnlich. Wer mehr sehen will kann vor Ort einen Trip buchen. Das Personal war immer freundlich. Leider wurde unser 10. Hochzeitstag vergessen, den wir dort gefeiert haben. Am nächsten Tag gabs dafür eine hübsche Bettdekoration und eine Flasche Wein. Da es die Tage/Wochen vorher viel geregnet hatte, waren sehr viele Moskitos auf der Insel, die uns trotz Moskitospay aus Thailand völlig zerstochen haben. Unser tägliches Highlight war der Sonnenuntergang an der Poolbar und die abendliche Fisch/Haie/Rochen-Fütterung. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Urlaub, aber wir würden die Insel unseren guten Freunden wahrscheinlich eher nicht weiterempfehlen. Wer weniger Anspüche, kommt auf der Insel aber sicher auf seine Kosten.
