L'umidità era molto alta. Il primo giorno ho fatto un pisolino e mi sono svegliato con un sacco di eruzioni cutanee sul corpo. Non so se fossero punture d'insetto o qualcos'altro. Ho avvisato la reception, ma non sono riusciti a risolvere il problema. Non è guarito ancora oggi. L'esperienza è stata terribile.

I rarely write long reviews, but this stay was so disappointing that I feel other travellers deserve to know what they’re really getting into. First off, the 5-star Google reviews for this hotel are incredibly misleading. Most of them seem to be written by locals or people with suspiciously similar wording. Our experience was nothing like what those reviews described. The location is honestly terrible. It’s around 35 minutes from the Chiang Mai city centre, which makes it extremely inconvenient. It’s also very hard to find a ride-share driver — we often had to wait a long time, and most drivers demanded extra cash tips because of how far away the hotel is. For a place this isolated, you’d expect reliable transportation options, but the shuttle service was completely insufficient. There were very few trips per day, and it didn’t even match up with typical times people would want to head into town or come back. There’s barely anything to do at the resort itself. It’s advertised like a peaceful retreat with plenty of facilities and activities, but in reality, it’s just a quiet property with almost nothing going on. It gets boring very quickly, and it doesn’t offer much of a “resort experience” at all. The room was run-down and didn’t feel clean from the start. The private water pond outside our room looked dirty and unkempt, with leaves and algae floating in it. Inside the room, there were wasps and mosquitoes constantly flying around — we spent half the time trying to get rid of them. **Hot Water Issue:** The hot water system in our room barely worked. The water was always lukewarm at best, and despite calling room service multiple times, it took four separate visits from different staff and technicians to fix it, after all that, the water still wasn’t properly hot. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they insisted the temperature was “normal" which was clearly not the case. It wasted a huge amount of time and made showers uncomfortable throughout the stay. One of the worst parts was that some of the room service staff were visibly sick. Not long after interacting with them, both my wife and I came down with a fever, which completely ruined the rest of our trip. It’s unacceptable that a resort claiming to be 5-star would allow unwell staff to continue working and risk guests’ health like that. Everything here feels like a rip-off. Laundry, shuttle services, and any extra activities were all charged at ridiculous prices. When we asked to borrow a clothes steamer, we were told they didn’t lend them out — which is shocking, because every other hotel I’ve stayed in (even 3-star ones) offers that as a standard amenity. To make matters worse, the hotel completely messed up our booking. We had extended our stay for one extra night — and this was booked and confirmed a month in advance. But on the last night, we returned to find ourselves locked out of our room. Both of us had high fevers that night and just wanted to get into bed and recover. Instead, the staff didn't believe me and insisted that I call my travel agent myself to sort it out, even though it turned out to be their system error. The whole process took over an hour to fix, and there was absolutely no empathy or effort from the manager to help us at the start, although she eventually covered our dinner and gave us a shuttle service for the last day as a compensation. Overall, this stay has completely ruined our time in Chiang Mai. We left the resort sick, stressed, and disappointed, and it even affected our next destination because our fevers carried over. For a place that advertises itself as a luxury 5-star resort, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in years. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel unless major improvements are made in management, hygiene, and overall service quality.
