Sunset Waters Apartments

Older villa but very clean. Great position and very quiet surroundings. Valet transfers both excellent. Use of cart perfect for getting around the island. Would stay again with no issues.

Warning: scam. We stayed at Sunset Waters Apartment last month and we were provided with one golf buddy included. The golf buggy was returned after our stay, we had no issues. 4 days after we left, $500 was taken out of my account from Sunset Waters without my permission. Strangely, I was given no warning that this would happen and I received an email from a man named Mark after the money was taken, which stated: "We received a message from the caretakers that the golf buggy has a damaged front light. As we did not hear from you and it wasn’t reported, we have gone ahead and made a claim against your credit card for $500 and the balance of $593.03 remains outstanding." We had no knowledge of any damage and had returned the buggy 4 days prior without issue. We didn't see any damage and no damage was pointed out to us when we returned it. The behaviour from this company has been concerning. I have tried calling Mark, I have left him multiple emails, but he appears to be ghosting me. He has provided no evidence, and won't even provide a copy of the waiver I signed on arrival. There were 4 days between the time of us returning the buggy and when I was first contacted by Mark. He has been unable to confirm if the damaged actually happened after we left. What is most concerning is the assumption that the damage was caused by us and that he has just taken the money from my account and now won't reply. If you do rent a buddy from anywhere in Hamilton Island treat it like a rental car, make sure to take lots of photos of the vehicle before and after, that was an obvious mistake on my behalf.

Staff met us at marina to take us to apartment. Apartment a bit dated but had everything you needed. Also included buggy with room which made it easy to get around island and to shops at marina.

Unit 13 was in need of maintenance, shower screen panel missing making floor wet and very dangerous. Bathroom towel rail was almost coming off the wall. Dining chair was broken and there were not enough coffee cups for our party of 4. Air conditioning remote controls not working. Outdoor furniture was lacking. There were no pillow cases on the pillows on arrival however were provided when complaint made. The buggy provided with the unit had one seatbelt not working and at night lights kept failing. Views were great and location was good. Our friends were in Unit 10 which was much nicer and better equipped.

Everyone during the process of my stay was so very lovely and professional. 10/10 Feel very blessed after staying at such a wonderful property on one of the most beautiful places on our blue planet
