I felt exceptionally welcome and safe here, as a solo female traveler. My room was tiny but it had everything I needed, and the price was very reasonable. Easy walking distance to The World of James Herriot as well as shops and restaurants. The proprietor kindly loaned me an umbrella for the day and didn’t even blink when I told him I accidentally left it behind at the pub. Breakfast was hearty and cooked to order. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a large room with a very comfortable bed. The shower room was perfectly adequate for my basic needs and I could work the shower. Excellent breakfast and a very agreeable host. Good value for money. Car parking is good also. There was a small guest lounge but we did not use it.

Mark a wonderful host. A friendly welcome given I was late and nothing too much trouble for he or his wife. Lovely b’fast, very clean and comfortable room plus I think a very good rate. Mark guided me to parking as I couldn’t find—-but that’s nothing new!

We went to Thirsk for two nights to watch the horse racing and found that the location was excellent with easy access to the racetrack and the town. The hosts were nice and friendly, even giving us advice on how to decide what horse to pick in the race. The room was very clean, and I noticed that they had even replenished our complimentary biscuits. Breakfast was excellent with perfectly cooked poached eggs. (Thank you Mark) The building is a very old building and I thought it gave the accommodation a bit of character. They had their own private car park, so the parking was free. I have no hesitation in recommending The Four Ways Guest House as a good place to stay when in Thirsk. I thought the place was very nice however because it’s an old building the stairs maybe a bit steep if you have mobility issues. If you are fit and well then, its a great place to stay so if you are going to Thirsk this is a good choice.

I took part in a cycling event in Thirsk and stayed at this hotel on my own. I found it very clean and well organised, the owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic - especially after a long event the previous day. Easy car parking to the rear and the guesthouse is less than 5 minutes walk into the town centre.

Great stay, lovely friendly host, great location, everything you would need in the room, comfy beds, clean and spacious rooms, lovely breakfast with lots of choice if staying in thirsk would highly recommend, host also had good local knowledge

I stayed in Fourways Guest House whilst backpacking in the area. It's in a prime location, close to two supermarkets and a chippy; and just seconds away from Thirsk town centre with its shops, pubs and restaurants. I was greeted upon arrival with a free upgrade to a larger room, which was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, towels, bedding etc. Owner Mark was very friendly and informative. Breakfast was included with the room and was spot on. Toast and a full English was prepared when I was ready, and a variety of cereals and juices was on offer also. Overall a great stay and I'll look at getting booked in when I'm next staying in the area!

Having stayed over the years in numerous hotels and guest houses across much of the UK,I recommend "Fourways" highly. It is easy to locate thanks to its prominent sign facing a well known couple of supermatkets. By rail to Thirsk it is a level walk of about 20 odd minutes and Thirsk town centre is a few minutes walk away. Owner Mark is polite and helpful and a good "Chef" providing very good breakfasts in a clean and nicely decorated dining room. My room and ensuite was spotless and had clear fire and general advice well displayed. With a small TV/ Video and tea and coffee provided you can enjoy your stay and a personalised key enables you to come and go from your room via a private entrance adjacent car parking spaces. All in all a first class guesthouse with good value for money tariffs .

Lovely stay at Four ways Guest House. Host very helpful and friendly, breakfast amazing, cooked to order with plenty of choice. Beds comfy and cosy. Would definitely stay there again. Easy access to Thirsk, walking distance
