Ananthaya Beach

We had a very nice stay in Anantaya Beach hotel. The staff is very friendly en very helpfull. The view is amazing and the food is also very nice.

Anathaya Beach resort has been our favorite hotel we’ve stayed at so far in our Sri Lanka holiday. It’s set cliffside with a gorgeous view of the beach where you can watch waves crashing on the reef and break walls while relaxing at the pool. People who are complaining about the location are out of their mind. It took me, literally on day 3 of driving a tuk tuk the first time in my life, about 10 minutes to get to town by tuk tuk. Its so much nicer being out in the quiet countryside. By far the cleanest hotel we’ve stayed at. The room was extremely spacious and so clean it felt nearly sterile. The grounds of the resort were kept flawless even shortly after a powerful storm. The restaurant is extremely reasonably priced and had a great selection of fresh seafood every day. I didn’t catch the names of all of the restaurant’s service staff but everyone was above and beyond. We wanted to try other places while out beach hopping but regretted every meal we spent away from Ananthaya’s restaurant and view! My wife and I rarely take advantage of spa treatments while traveling but after reading a few other reviews we decided to give it a try. I had the 90 minute deep tissue and my wife had the 90 minute Ayurvedic full body. Our therapists, Damith and Nimalsha, were both outstanding. Highly suggest taking advantage of their spa while you’re there as much as possible!

What a fantastic hotel, amazing setting overlooking the Indian Ocean. Quiet location ideal for chilling out while visiting Sri Lanka. Accommodation was clean and provided for all our needs. Food in stunning open restaurant was authentic Sri Lankan. Would love to return in the future.

We stayed for 2 nights and we regret that we didn't stay any longer. We travelled for 3 weeks through sri lanka and this was for sure the best hotel. We went for a luxury hotel during our stay in Sri lanka but ananthaya Beach hotel definitly beat it. We went for the massages and my boyfriend said, it was the best he ever had. From food to the staff, the location etc, we had nothing to complain. They even serve cappucino, something that is really rare in sri lankan hotels^^ In the morning its possible to walk on a "desert" beach. The location is "far" from the center but you definitly don't need to quit the hotel. They have everything you need. Thank you!!!

We stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved it. The view from your balcony and the pool area is to die for, it’s really something. The staff and owner are really friendly and can’t do enough for you, they just want you to have a nice time. They are great! Our room was perfectly fine, nothing fancy, just a big high ceilinged room, that was very clean and all we needed, it slept two adults and two young kids - admittedly the youngest had to sleep in with us. As they only provide a king size bed and one single. Not sure if you can request an extra bed but for three nights we more than comfortable. The pool and loungers are really nice. The kids loved the pool and seeing the wildlife too. The sunrise here is spectacular but the way. The food was ok - breakfast was included and there’s a varied choice and dinner is from a menu and it’s ok, very cheap, but quite small portions. A family of four can eat for £25/£30 We choose to eat out a couple of times and that’s nothing more than a short Tuk Tuk ride away. I also highly recommend the local bird sanctuary - what a day out that was. We didn’t venture out too far on the beaches as the dogs (lots) scared our kids, they seemed perfectly harmless but the barking frightened our little ones. They seemed quite territorial. The owner of hotel assured us they don’t bite, but sadly our kids and us to be honest felt a bit intimidated by them. We would 100% stay here again and I think 3 nights is about right if you are foodies like us. Thanks for their wonderful hospitality and we hope to return one day.

In January we spent 3 days in Anathaya beach. Wonderful place. Clean, spacious room, nice view, tasty food and absolutely amazing friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for the hospitality. Hope to see you again.
