Hotel in zona Hiru beach, Hambantota

La spiaggia dell'hotel è troppo ondulata per nuotare e può solo crogiolarsi al sole. Ma non lontano, c'è un'altra spiaggia pubblica a più di 100 metri, dove è possibile fare il bagno. Ci sono molte scelte per colazione e cena a buffet e il gusto è buono. Certo, ci sono errori occasionali, come la spalla di manzo alla griglia troppo cruda. Ci sono poche cose per far divertire i bambini. C'è una sala giochi dove puoi disegnare, guardare la TV, giocare, ecc., Ma la manutenzione non è molto buona. Il servizio è generalmente buono, inaugurato. Tuttavia, ci sono più ingredienti per lo spettacolo e alcuni dettagli richiedono attenzione. Nel complesso, il rapporto prezzo / prestazioni è nella media e dovrebbe essere fatto.

Abbiamo soggiornato nella camera all’ultimo piano con una bellissima vista mare. Camera molto ampia e pulita e dotata di un grande balcone su cui potersi rilassare ascoltando il rumore delle onde dell’oceano. Colazione servita con portate ben curate, composta da un piatto di frutta, omelette/uova e pane e marmellata. L’hotel è posizionato fronte mare e lontano da altre strutture, un posto dove rilassarsi e fare belle passeggiate sulla spiaggia. Ottima la piscina. Spero di tornarci presto!! Punto dolente: la strada per arrivare all’hotel non è ben agibile e non percorribile con la macchina. Nel caso piovesse (come è successo a noi) la strada si trasforma in un percorso di fango e pozze d’acqua. La strada è mal ridotta per il passaggio di mezzi pesanti che sono impegnati nella costruzione di altri resort lì vicino. Per arrivare all’hotel ti devono venire a prendere con un tuk tuk.

We spent two days in Shangrila. The hotel and restaurant staff at Shangri-La were extremely friendly and attentive, and we had a wonderful time. They always had a smile on their face and provided excellent service. Masala chai was a great experience. Ramesh was very hospitable and served the tea. Shangri-La is a fantastic location to try masala chai and unwind, and enjoy the best hospitality experience of your life.❤️🙏

L'hotel è situato in una grande posizione, vicino al Parco Yalla. La nostra camera ha una bella vista sul lago. Molte grazie al manager che ci ha aiutato a organizzare il nostro safari. Voglio sottolineare il comportamento strano delle signore alla reception. Non orientato al cliente.

This is a nice hotel, the rooms are very good, there is a lovely pool and the staff were lovely but for a 4* hotel we did feel let down on several occasions. We are reasonably seasoned travellers and know about the things that can happen in Sri Lanka which we are visiting for the third time. One of the main things that went wrong was the transport that the hotel arranged for us from Ella, I had clearly specified in writing that we wanted a vehicle big enough for 4 adults + 4 suitcases + 4 hang baggage when booking several months before. I followed this up, again in writing, a couple of days before our journey with the same information and was assured all was OK. The car that did turn up was way too small, resulting in a wasted journey for the poor guy that had driven for 2.5 hrs to get to us. The manager put the blame on another company for messing up but I think that he should have made sure that the vehicle we were getting was adequate. To his credit the situation was put right but this shouldn’t have happened in the first place. As I’ve said, the hotel itself is very nice indeed. The staff are really lovely but many didn’t speak any English so communication was very difficult when ordering, eg we just avoided having kottu (a Sri Lankan meal) bought to us when all we wanted was a coke. I can understand this is in a one or two star place but for somewhere that portends to be a cut above then I think that the customer can expect to be able to communicate. It was the same with most of the reception staff, some basic training would I think go a long way. Food was ok but I had to send a meal back because the fish I’d ordered was overcooked to the point that it was charred and brittle. The internet was lamentably slow and was frequently non existent. This should not be a problem even in Sri Lanka as we had good connections for the other 6 or so places we stayed of lesser rating. We only had hot water for 1 out of the three nights we stayed, when we mentioned it, it was fixed so probably just someone didn’t turn the water heaters on. Again, we’ve travelled around a bit and stayed in basic hotels and know that things may not materialise as you wish, but when one does decide to splurge a certain standard is expected. We were asked at checkout if our stay was up to standard and we told the person on reception about what had happened, he was obviously senior and spoke reasonable English. To his credit he was very apologetic and we were given some money off our food and drinks bill however we would have much preferred that the hotel lived up to its star rating. With a few tweaks this could be an excellent hotel, so up to the management really to do their bit!

Nice rooms overlooking extensive rice paddies. The restaurant and pool were also located so as to overlook the same view. I think most visitors are coming to visit Yala Park. Available material indicated that there were nature hikes and a visit to a place where buffalo curd (yogurt) was produced. However upon inquiry, we were told that the buffalos were gone and that there were no hikes. It would probably be best to remove these suggestions from company material. However we did find a very nice hike through adjacent village back roads. The manager was very nice.

Amazing experience. One of the best hotels we've stayed at. The food is incredible, my wife is gluten free and has coeliac, therefore, she becomes very sick if she's eats food containing gluten. The head of the restaurant, I believe his name was Dilshan (apologize if this is wrong) was outstanding, he went out of his way to go through all the meals with my stating which ones were gluten free and even provided a plate of desserts which he got the chef to make specifically for her. Such a kind hearted gentleman. The service was phenomenal as per the other Jetwings we have stayed at. We will definitely be back.

Amazing location. In the middle of a forest and just beside the sea. Booked Jungle Chalet and the room was big and good. Found a spider in the room which was scary but I think OK for a place situated in the middle of jungle. Saw wild boars running around our room, crocodiles in the lake near hotel entrance and small animals and peacocks. Other than Yala Safari there is nothing much to do in the hotel other than swimming in the pool. Had full board and the dining experience was good. Bar service is also good.

Io e le mie figlie abbiamo amato questo posto. Immerso in una natura selvaggia ma con tutti i confort, camere bellissime, ottima cucina, servizio eccellente. Le escursioni al parco sono state mozzafiato, davvero non immaginavamo tanta bellezza!
