Location of the hotel is 10-20mins to most area, but there’s nothing around the hotel. The nearest convenience store is at least 5 minutes walk. The nearest shopping mall is a dead mall.
About the room itself, I get to see some partial sea view but that’s about it. The room is facing the road, so you get to hear all the honking sound from cars and motorcycles.
I am ok that the shower and toilet is split, but I don’t like the fact that there’s no where to hang towel or clothes. You have to put the towel outside of the shower room else it will get wet and go out naked to dry yourself. So think twice before booking this hotel if you are not going as a couple. I’m surprise no one mentioned about the bathrooms.
About the daily breakfast, it’s international style but it doesn’t taste good at all.

First and foremost, the location of the hotel is fantastic. Situated close to various amenities, I found myself just a short walk away from restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Whether I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat or explore the city's vibrant culture, everything was easily accessible. This convenience truly enhanced my overall experience, making it effortless to immerse myself in the local atmosphere.
One of the standout features of the hotel was its friendly and English-speaking staff. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the front desk staff who were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They provided me with detailed information about the hotel facilities, nearby attractions, and even recommended some must-visit places in Haikou. Throughout my stay, the staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met, making me feel valued as a guest.
The rooms at the Hampton by Hilton were modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. My room was meticulously clean, with comfortable bedding and a well-appointed bathroom. The inclusion of amenities such as a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a coffee maker added an extra layer of convenience and comfort to my stay. QquanzzI booked three rooms and stayed at Mission Hills Resort for five nights, where we were served by the duty manager, Mary, throughout our stay.
We were given a complimentary room upgrade, and Mary also helped ensure that our group was located near each other, making it much more convenient for us. I’m especially for her effort in helping us locate a farm around the resort and for reaching out proactively before the trip. She even shared her contacts and responded to some of my queries after office hours, which truly shows her dedication to her work.
Although some parts of the resort are a bit dated and seemed to be undergoing maintenance, it didn’t really affect the overall experience. For the rooms It would be even better if a drawdown curtain or privacy screen could be added to the bathing area or toilet, making it more convenient for larger groups like mine.
This resort is ideal for families with young kids or anyone looking for a great parent–child bonding (亲子游) experience. There’s a mini pet house with cute and lively animals where children can get up close and cozy with them.
The Children’s Club — Squirrel Village offers a wide variety of daily activities for parent–child bonding. My kids especially enjoyed the activities led by the young and energetic team of hosts (可爱, 葡萄, 糖果, 西瓜, 猩猩, 鳄鱼, and others). They loved it so much that I gave up some of our original itinerary just to let them stay longer, and they’re still humming and reminiscing about the songs and moments from the club. If I travel to Haikou again, I would certainly return to Mission Hills and include a few more days at the Squirrel Club to spend quality time with my child.
As mentioned in other reviews, we were also served a delicious pot of dessert every night — a thoughtful and warm gesture that added an extra special touch to our stay.
Thank you, Mission Hills Resort, and especially Mary and her Squirrel team, for making our trip so memorable despite the aging facilities. The kids in our group truly had a wonderful and enjoyable time at the resort, and we’ll cherish these moments for a long time.
If i am ever travelling back to Hai Kou for 亲子游, I would stay in Mission Hills purely for the Squirrel Children’s Club activities.
Ps, the resort actually had some additional in-room items that could be loaned and i feel that it would be better if they could share ongoing promotions.

AAdelyn Pros: Situato a circa 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria Haikou, spaziosa stanza, assistente vocale AI.
Cons: La stanza è vuota, la ricezione è stata menzionata durante l’ispezione e ha dichiarato che è dovuta alla stanza di livello 1 (per tipo di stanza: doppia stanza di sconto). Infine, un certo numero di moschee, fu fornito un repellente elettrico liquido, e la luce specchia nella mia stanza non funzionava, perché stavo solo per una notte e non mi importava, io ne avevo informato il personale e non ho chiesto un cambio di stanza.

Room: Upgraded to a seaview apartment suite. The shower drain in my previous room had a minor issue. Manager Grace Wang from the Front Office patiently and meticulously resolved it. She even added me on WeChat to follow up—truly professional. Thank you!
Breakfast: On 33/F. Stunning view. Decent overall. Highly recommend the noodle station and waffles.
Service: Far better than the unsmiling Sofitel next door. Staff were courteous, kind, and tactful across all departments, including the Chinese restaurant staff on 4/F.

However, there are some shortcomings which i personally don’t feel very pleasant about.
We reached there earlier than the supposedly check-in time as the flight was a redeye flight, we were told to wait. During waiting, we were told to fill up the visitor form but some of our phones can’t do the submission due to unreceived OTP.
Also, this is a residential apartment so Taobao items are not kept at front desk. It’s delivered to nearby pickup point which can be across the street or at the edge of the area.
Before entering the residential building, security guard will request for your details, once again. And every time you enter you have to get access from security. This is something that is very tedious, especially when the security swapped shift.
The house, although homely, was very humid and stale. There was supposedly an aircon in the living room but was removed. Visiting in summer was a torment. Unit is electrical saving in the sense that you have to activate the button behind the main door everytime you open and close the door. If you dont, it will deactivate the electrical supply.
With that said, you have to return to a extremely hot and humid unit every single day.
Kitchen was dirty, unkept. Toilets have foul smell of drainage, sewer flies were observed as well. Common toilet right beside the main door appeared to be translucent, which got the user getting paranoid over the silhouette when showering, especially in the night.
Housekeeping wasnt done for our 3 nights stay.
We came back to untidy room and was told that cleaner had knocked off despite uncompleted jobs.
When asked for essentials like toilet rolls and mineral water, it was the cleaner aunty who delivered, while taking her time and nagging at our request for delivery.
We paid for extension because our return flight was late, but cleaner aunty came in even before our agreed time. Just so that she can knock off on time after cleaning the unit.

Offre una piscina fredda nella piscina e un calore nei grandi tubi caldi. Le camere sono pulite, il letto è morbido, e la TV è enorme. Il colazione potrebbe essere un po' meglio, ma dato il prezzo, è piuttosto buono. L'unica cosa che mi è mancata è una tazza di caffè nero
