Ty Newydd B&B

We have just returned from a wonderful 5 nights B&B at Ty Newydd, a lovely comfortable and homely B&B with friendly and helpful hosts, and a great breakfast with plenty of choices to set you up for the day! Great cycling and walking straight from the door onto the canal path, lots of good eateries close by, and Brecon Town only a few miles away for a bigger choice. Lovely scenery all around. Thank you Sid & Rachel for a memorable and enjoyable stay!

Very nice place, cozy and homely, nice rooms, great breakfast and Rachel and Sid are wonderfull hosts. Stayed for two nights with husbond and adult daughter. We all loves it. Easy to get to wonderfull walks and sights all around Bannau Brycheiniog. My best recomendations.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Rachel, who showed us to our room, and explained about walks in both directions of the canal etc. We met Sid at breakfast who was very pleasant amd chatty. Great Attic room, fab views out to the canal and mountains, beds very comfy. Fabulous breakfast, which we had to pre order the night before, plenty to choose from, Cereal, Yogurt, Fruit, to full Welsh Breakfast. Set on the edge of the Mon & Brecon Canal, with stunning views of the countryside and mountains all around, we were able to relax in the conservatory and on the outside patio. Very peaceful. Would definitely return and highly recommend. Thanks Rachel and Sid for a most pleasant stay.

The four of us, two adult couples, had 5 wonderful days at beautiful Ty Newydd B&B. Rachel and Sid are warm and welcoming hosts. Clean nice rooms, delicious breakfast and good advice from Sid about things to see and do in Brecon Beacons and the surrounding areas, made this a wonderful stay. We went on nice walks: the 4 Waterfalls Walk, a 5 hour round trip from the nearby pretty village of Llanfrynach to Fan Y Big, and along the canal to nearby pubs with good food within 30-40 minutes walk (or 3-5 min. by car). Beautiful to walk along the canal. We also did trips to the Big Pit National Coal Museum, Abergavenny, Brecon, the book town Hay-on-Wye and the beaches nearby Swansea. If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday in lovely rural surroundings, this is the right place to stay.

We have just returned from a stay here. We booked the Captains lookout for 2 nights. The studio was easy to locate, and set on a fantastic part of Brecon. The room itself was lovely and immaculately clean. The bed was so comfy and the view was amazing. Right on the canal and around a3 mile walk into Brecon which was easy, or in the other direction, around a mile to a nice pub called the Royal Oak, which was great for a few drinks and stroll back (don’t forget the torch!). Great location. To walk or visit nice towns like Crickhowell, Abergavenny and Builth wells. Trying to book again we liked it that much.
