The friends who had selected this hotel kept telling me "to not expect too much". Well even they were pleased with this little property tucked away in the Swiss Alps. Don't let the name fool you, it is nothing like a hospice. It is set in the valley and overlooking a lake. Make sure you get a "room with a view". It is worth the extra few Swiss Francs. The rooms have all been recently renovated and a re quite large with modern decor (think wood, browns and beiges) with a lovely bathroom. there is also a separate shared lounge area which has a wonderful view also. The room rate includes a four course dinner and breakfast (in summer - it is different in winter). The dinner meals were substanstial and pretty good quality. The staff were very friendly also. Note that the hotel has an incredible wine celler (some 300 wines) and the sommellier is happy to take you on a tour and offer advice. Breakfast was fine but the hot food was overcooked and dry - avoid!! We will definately be back to enjoy the peace and tranquility.

We stayed just one night passing through Europe. We arrived via Grimsel Bus which was an experience in and of itself! This hotel is breathtaking, surrounded by the glacial lake Grimselsee. We enjoyed the wine cellar and a delicious 4-course dinner. It was a little cold, overcast and rainy while we were there but we were still able to find time to walk around the property. The self-operated Silberhornbahn was so much fun, definitely a must do while there.

This historic 4-star hotel, with a dramatic location on a rocky peak, in the middle of a natural rugged alpine landscape, overlooks the Grimsel reservoir. The hotel has been beautifully renovated. The kitchen and wine are outstanding. I was there for hiking, which did not disappoint. On a rainy afternoon I took a tour of the Grimsel Dam underground…. very interesting. The hotel is definitely worth a stay. Dieses historische 4-Sterne-Hotel mit dramatischer Lage auf einem felsigen Gipfel inmitten einer natürlichen, schroffen Alpenlandschaft überblickt den Grimselstausee. Das Hotel wurde wunderschön renoviert. Die Küche und der Wein sind hervorragend. Ich war dort zum Wandern, was mich nicht enttäuscht hat. An einem regnerischen Nachmittag machte ich eine Führung durch die unterirdische Grimselsstausee…. sehr interessant. Das Hotel ist auf jeden Fall einen Aufenthalt wert.

Dieses Hotel ist top in allen Bereichen, ausser dass die Übernachtungspreise übertrieben hoch sind, wenn man nicht das Glück hat einen Rabatt oder einen Sonderpreis zu bekommen. Die Zimmer sind gross, schön, konfortabel mit schönen angenehmen Holzböden. Zu erwähnen sind die total neuen einwandfrei funktionierenden Sanitäranlagen (Duschen, Wasserhahnen, usw...). Servicepersonal sehr sympathisch und hilfsbereit, viel junges motiviertes Personal. Frühstück ist top, diverse Brotsorten, auch warme Küche, alles was es braucht vor einer längeren Wanderung oder Bergtour. Gratisparkplätze genügend vorhanden hinter dem Hotel. Wer einen leichten Schlaf hat, sollte ein Zimmer auf Bergseite buchen und nicht auf Seeseite, da dort ab und zu Nachtarbeiten an der Baustelle des neuen Staudamms durchgeführt werden. Auf jeden Fall ein Geheimtipp seitens Ausblick und zentrale Lage für Wanderungen.

Die Zimmer bieten alles, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt in den Bergen braucht. Wir buchten ein Zimmer mit Talsicht - herrlich, sogar vom Stausee konnten wir noch recht viel sehen! Der Service beim Empfang und im Restaurant ist zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Wir haben am Abend sehr gut gegessen, auch das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig.

Wir waren drei Tage mit der Firma im Hotel Grimsel Hospiz. Ein tolles Hotel, wie man auf den Fotos erkennen kann. Es hat aktuell 29 Zimmer. Sehr freundlicher Service. Draussen hat es eine Sauna und einen Hot Tub, wo man schön entspannen kann. Wir waren im Januar da. Eine schöne, verschneite Aussicht konnten wir geniessen. Das Essen ist absolut fantastisch. Es hat auch eine Lounge mit einem Feuer im Kamin. Die Anreise war über Innertkirchen mit Postauto, Gondel, kleinem Bus und wieder mit der Gondel. Die Meetings sowie Abendessen konnten wir in rustikalen Räumen abhalten und geniessen.

Wir waren letztes Wochenende endlich einmal eine Nacht im Winter im Grimselhospiz. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis vom ersten Moment, der umfang- und abwechslungsreichen Anreise über den Mini-Schneeschuhtrail, Sauna, Hotpot, Weinkeller , hervorragendes Abendessen und schöne Räumlichkeiten. Trotz Nebel und nicht dem besten Wetter fanden wir es ein tolles Erlebnis! Sehr empfehlenswert. Einfach mal was anders.

Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt keineswegs. Zumal auf der Website bei der Buchung gekonnt verschwiegen wurde, dass man das Hotel im Winter kaum verlassen darf, weil es sich in einer Wildruhezone befindet. Das heisst dann im Klartext, dass man sich lediglich auf einem ziemlich rutschigen Pfad rund ums Haus herum bewegen darf und die wunderbare Winterkulisse somit nur wie aus einem goldenen Käfig heraus betrachten kann. Das feine Essen und die gemütlich eingerichteten Zimmer entschädigen da nur teilweise - zumal das Hotel mit exorbitanten Preisen aufwartet und den Gästen zur Aufenthaltspauschale hinzu auch noch Transportkosten von 74.- pro Person abknöpft. Notabene für die Benutzung von Anlagen, die grösstenteils der KWO selbst gehören.

Die Lage des Grimsel Hospiz ist einzigartig, das Hotel ist top, die Zimmer sind modern ausgestattet und absolut sauber. Das Essen war ein Geschmacksexplosion mit unglaublich tollen Aromen. Ich das Grimsel Hospiz zu 100% weiterempfehlen.
