Comfort Inn & Suites Crystal Inn Sportsplex

I've suggested this hotel to friends in the past but not anymore!! My friends had to leave a day early and checked out before check out time but were not refunded for that day! They were given the run around and explanations that were ridiculous and contradictory! You would think that the hotel would be more agreeable when they didn't complain about the issues with the room ( heat not working, bathroom issues, cleanliness). Why be so uncooperative? 0/10, don't recommend!😡

We booked while traveling rather than prior. As we drive on to the property less than 10 minutes later, I decided to cancel. No cancellations for any reason were allowed. I checked in, the area was clean ish. However, on the way to the room, it was a different story. Door knobs looked like they were unable to lock. The walls in the room literally have dirt, gouges, and hand prints on them. I definitely do not want to walk barefoot. We left for dinner and as we entered the side door upon return with our key card, we realized that the door doesn’t even lock. I was and still am leary about my car being here overnight. Hopefully my car is safe overnight.

The staff was very nice and professional. Especially the front desk. I think her name was Julia or maybe Julie. She was very knowledgeable of the area also. This comfort inn has an indoor pool that is heated as well as elevator, vending with snacks and sodas, a cardio room, and plenty of parking. The hotel is about 4 miles from restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations. Next door to the hotel is a Flying J with a Denny's and a Wendys. The room was clean. The AC unit was ice cold! The shower water was very hot. The bed was very comfortable. The internet was super fast and I had no issues streaming and watching movies. I stayed in room 214. I recommend this hotel.

No safety at all with back door propped open at midnight. Whole hotel full of moisture. Room 212 was full of mold and mildew and rust. You could smell it as soon as the door opened. Management refused to refund when I told them it was a health issue and I could not stay where mold and mildew was. Corporate said I shouldn't have an issue with a refund from hotel but manager refused and night clerk said she had already got into trouble for refunding the day before when people refused to stay. Another from our group chose to stay and got sick after eating breakfast. Save yourself the issues and stay somewhere else

Nasty, Nasty, Nasty. I have pictures to back this up. Roaches on the walls in the hallways. The bed had hair in the sheets, the lamps are all rusted out. The carpet is dirty, this place is just a dump.

I would not recommend this hotel to my enemies. Upon check-in, we found our room door open. The smell in the room was overpowering and what looked like some type of cleaner was left on the furniture. There was a previous guest's food in the microwave. The room had not been vacuumed. Repairs made to a bathroom wall were poorly done. The carpet on the stairs near the elevator was filthy. Both the side and back doors to the outside were propped open all night. The screenless window at the end of the hall by our room was left open the whole time we were there. When we went down to get a luggage cart the next morning (the apparent only one was not available), the front desk clerk was leaned back in her chair asleep at the desk. Needless to say, we didn't stick around for breakfast. The only positive is that the staff at the front desk were polite although they didn't all seem fully trained. Complaints to corporate only resulted in offers of points for future stays at one of their locations and saying that the complaint would go in the hotel's permanent record. They refused to say that they would actually address the issues. Based on this experience, we are seriously considering switching hotel chains.
