We stayed here on 12/04/25 and we had such a nice stay here celebrating my birthday with my partner. All of the staff are so lovely and helpful. The beds are the comfiest I have ever stayed in definitely the best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. The treatments and the thermal bathing were unbelievable, they were so relaxing. We made the mistake of not booking in the restaurant and we didn’t know the kitchen closed at 9pm (which was our own fault because we didn’t check). We got to the restaurant just after 9 and were told the kitchen had closed and we were unsure of what to do because we had a £40 voucher for a meal and we didn’t know the area well but Rodrigo made sure this was not an issue and sat us down which we were so grateful for. I wanted to mention all the staff that night, Maahira, Hassan and Gabriel they were all so polite and friendly and made sure they gave us the best service possible. The food was the best, so delicious. Rodrigo needs a special shoutout because he is just amazing, what a genuine nice guy he honestly made our night so special. Thankyou so much for making my birthday and our stay so special we appreciate everything that everyone did. We will definitely be returning and I recommend this place for everyone if you are looking for a VERY relaxing treat :)

I'm not the first person to leave a negative review regarding the mothers day event. As mentioned by many there was not enough food, tables crammed together in an unsafe manor and hardly any staff. My true disappointment comes from how the company have handled the situation following. A noble thing to do would have been to hold their hands up and admit they were at fault and issue refunds. I would have had respect for the buisness and management. You may come to Stanley House and have a great experience, but if you don't, then please don't expect any consideration or understanding from management. You will not be compensated nor will your opinion as the customer matter to them at all. They just want to make money. Which is what they did on Mother's Day. Disgusting, money grabbing behaviour. Completely unacceptable.

Met be very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is very inviting and clean. Lovely area outside to sit in the good weather. Room was spacious , clean and well equipped. We stayed in the same room on our last visit. Attended a function where the meal couldn’t be faulted. Breakfast was hot and well prepared with plenty of choice

If you’re looking for an exciting experience you may come out disappointed. Suites in part of the hotel don’t have air con, and no lift. Breakfast is advertised as full breakfast but presented as small portions on a big plate. And not particularly tasty.

Avoid this place!!!!! Extremely disappointing experience at Stanley House Spa on Sunday 13th July. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was cold and dismissive. Staff were rude and unhelpful, drinks were poor quality, and shockingly, we were told at noon the kitchen had closed with no prior notice — meaning we missed the included spa lunch. The facilities were overcrowded and not clean, robes were tiny, flip-flops unusable, and basic amenities like shampoo were missing. Staff gave little to no guidance, and my massage felt rushed and impersonal — the therapist even told me she had another guest waiting. The entire day was chaotic, stressful, and far from the relaxing spa experience we paid for. Only one staff member, Mandy, showed any empathy or professionalism. We left feeling more stressed than when we arrived. Absolutely not worth the money — and we expect a refund. Would not return or recommend.

Stayed about 5 years ago and found this place great. The surroundings are beautiful and the spa and gym are excellent. The rooms are quite grand. While that is still the case, this time I was disappointed. Stayed on the second floor of the lodge - no lift and no-one offered to help with my luggage. The heating was on and the room was unbearably hot - there was no way to turn off the radiators although a basic fan was provided which did little to help. The room hadn't been hoovered and there was a toe nail next to the bed. My room wasn't cleaned over the two day stay. The staff seemed young and inexperienced but pleasant. I would stay again - but this is not a five star experience. .

Disappointed very small and extremely airless room. I expected a much bigger area with more facilities. Only 4 heated beds to lie on no other chairs or rest area. Seemed to me to have too many people in at one time- not a rest full experience when people are jumping in the spa pool either

This was a Christmas gift and what a gift the spa was spotless, relaxing and beautifully decorated. The meal that followed was amazing Farah who shown us around was informative and spent time chatting to us. In the spa you get your own changing room with a hairdryer and straightners and a shower in there. Incredible well done Stanley House.

A lovely hotel and very comfortable room (could have done with another chair). We can't get away much, so when we do we love the experience of a good hotel, the staff were polite, but were completely uninterested in us as people, we felt very anonymous, which left a bit of an empty flavour and I'm afraid we wouldn't return. But we can see why this is a popular wedding destination as anonymity will not be an issue with a large crowd.
