Stayed here with 2 children and booked the family room. They had put up a extra single bed with a sofa bed for our 2 children. Unfortunately the sofa bed was so hard it felt like it was made out of a wooden crate. We had to request another single mattress which they were able to provide but was hassle we didn't need and I can't understand why they don't just have 2 proper single beds as they would fit easily. Evening meal in the hotel restaurant is not worth the prices as its not the best quality. We stayed here last year and the increase in prices is substantial. Our room had a few issues; tv remote didn't work, dirty carpets, shower door didn't close properly, shower diverter didn't work so overhead and hand held shower were both on at the same time. The double bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet. The hotel is very well situated to get to various points of interest and has a large carpark. For £150 for a night B&b I would say was very good value but the rooms need a bit of attention and the carpets throughout the hotel could do with a deep clean.

Stayed for two nights to do some walking with friends, really appreciated the walks leaflet in our room, we did two of them and the instructions worked. Lovely to be able to walk from the hotel door and forget about our cars. Room was great and food superb. Good choice at breakfast although would have liked some fresh fruit to start. There was plenty of choice for dinner, including very good fish and vegetarian choices. Staff were all very polite and helpful. We enjoyed a drink in the garden in comfy seats under the gazebo after walking. I would certainly recommend the hotel and would return if the opportunity arises.

We stayed one night in the Don Bradman suite, a superb room.A warm welcome from staff,Carla and Ella,lunch was very good with great service from Lewis.Dinner was was delicious, venison ravioli, very tasty. Service at dinner was efficient and friendly from Ruby.Breakfast also very good ,lovely to see Leah again.This is our go to place for relaxation, great food and lovely atmosphere.

Absolutely loved this place! A beautiful outside appearance, matched by the inside. Arrived an hour early; not a problem. Massive bedroom (the Ferguson) with a lovely view of the terrace and the valley beyond. Our evening meal was outstanding, and the staff were spot on; there was a party in the events space- turns out this company was rewarding certain staff for their loyalty ( now that's a fine company to work for!). The breakfast was as good as the meal the night before btw. The odd lick of paint needed here and there, but value-wise, it cannot be faulted. Will definitely be back!y

We had a great one night stay here. Super room (Ferguson) with huge comfortable bed (pillows are not great though), great shower and beautiful view over the garden down the valley. The bar has some great ales and there's a lovely beer garden to drink them in. Our evening meal in the back restaurant overlooking the valley was superb. We had the best cheese souffle we've ever had, delicious sea trout and the chicken supreme was really delicious. They also offer a great French rose wine. The cooked breakfast was very good although a little disappointing that no cereals are offered and you are not able to order toast. Didn't like the teapots either. The location is perfect for walking. We did a wonderful walk from the hotel up to Longshaw and back by the river and gorge, and there's plenty more walks nearby. Finally, I have to say all the staff here were so good. We had professional, friendly, and polite service at all times at reception, in the bar and in the restaurant (thanks Hannah). We have already recommended it to friends and will be back next year.

Food was excellent, well prepared, tasty and good value in today's market. Friendly, efficient service from Ben and others. Lovely setting overlooking the hills and valleys.
